Berkeley Group Plc’s Post

Welcome to King’s Road Park, a new neighbourhood now taking shape in the heart of Hammersmith & Fulham. This long-derelict 16-acre gasworks site is now being transformed into a green and welcoming community with over 1,800 homes - 35% of which are affordable - along with more than 100,000 square feet of commercial and community space, including restaurants, bars, shops and offices. Just under half of the neighbourhood will be 6 acres of public open space, including a 2 acre park at the heart of the development, public squares, gardens, footpath and cycle routes. A restored Grade II* Listed gasholder will be the historic centrepiece of this carefully crafted landscape, believed to be the oldest surviving in the world. We welcomed our first residents earlier this year and look forward to many more arrivals in 2025 as we complete the first 128 affordable homes. There’s still a very long way to go on this hugely complex and long-term project. And we want to say a very big thank you to our key stakeholders Hammersmith & Fulham Council, Historic England, The Stoll Foundation, Riverstone, EPR Architects, Gillespies and all of our contractors and consultants. Brilliant to see this brownfield site developing into a sustainable community space, pleased to have had a small part to play in early planning stages and remediation plans. Hopefully this type of sustainable remediation sets the foundation for many more brownfield legacy sites and a productive collaborative approach to cleaning up historic contamination to deliver homes and work space. Great to see heritage assets preserved too.

Impressive. The Pulse Fibre connectivity solution would be perfect on a scheme like this. Bot residential and commercial residents benefit from up to 10gb speeds, and the Affordable Home residents benefit from 40% discount on their tariff! What's not to like 😊
