This new report by Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University and The Educational Opportunity Project (EOP) at Stanford University reveals data showing that elementary and middle school students recovered about one-third of the original loss in math and one-quarter of the loss in reading. While these gains are historic, the researchers found that students are still not where they should be. Learn what steps researchers recommend schools take, including informing parents if their child is below grade level in math or reading. #LiteracyGains #K12Education

Associate Vice President, Research and STEM Education at Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU)
New research shines a spotlight on the true game-changer in college math success: the faculty itself. A recent study found that instructors' instructional and assessment practices, particularly those offering more chances for students to demonstrate understanding and personalized feedback, significantly boost pass rates in gateway math courses, and reduce racial disparities in math course outcomes. The study emphasizes the need for strong support systems for faculty. This includes professional development opportunities to help them implement research-backed assessment practices, as well as creating a culture that encourages collaboration and sharing of best practices among instructors. The study also recommends putting faculty at the center in research, policy, and practice work. The research analyzed data from over 22,000 students across 704 gateway math courses at four California community colleges. Want to see the full report and dive deeper into the data?
