Nicole Campbell AFSB and I did not really know whether to think this was a significant achievement or how to really feel about being #29 but we are definitely ok with it! My old ego would not feel much pride and set a goal to be number one, but we are completely okay just doing what we need to do to help contractors and agents get surety bonds no matter where we fall in the rankings. We have a great team beside us and have some costly lessons learned behind us to help carry us forward.
While we aren't setting infinite growth model goals to be #1, we are definitely setting up for growth over the next couple of years.
We are excited to say Parrot's retail side is just getting traction in federal contracting and targeting our assistance toward new/emerging and large prime SDVOSB's. We are hiring in the next few months for someone to help expand our presence in this sector and have built partnerships for SBA Bonding; Funds Administration; Cash Flow/Working Capital Lending; and discounted bookkeeping, accounting, and fractional CFO services for our clients to boost their bondability early on.

A big boost to our growth in 2023 happened as we began managing an underwriting program for David Campbell who is writing standard and nonstandard bonds up to $3MM on A-Rated paper with significant appetite for long tail, reclamation, closure / post-closure, subdivision, right-of-way, and principals without appropriate levels of financial preparation but with appropriate net worth to bond size. Many corporate policies and reinsurance treaties block the ability for standard carriers to write these types of bonds and bring Parrot the capability to address the full width of the surety market for our agents and brokers we work with.
