7 Reasons Why You Are Not Getting An Interview ____________________________________ 1) Get out there and make yourself seen The saying “there is no such a thing as a free meal” is never more true than when applied to job searching. You need to get out there and make yourself heard, if you have sent an application to a company you really want to work for but heard nothing back, call them! Get on the phone, chase your application and if they don’t want to interview you find out why, negative feedback can mean that next time around you don’t make the same mistakes. Your dream job is not simply going to knock on the door and find you. 2) Get creative Many companies receive hundreds if not thousands of job applications in a day, make yours stand out. Whether it’s with a killer cover letter or hand delivering your application, make them remember you when they are shortlisting for the interview stage. Anything you can do to make you stand out from the crowd, do it! 3) Do your research Make sure you know everything you can when applying to a company, if they have an application form try and impress upon them your knowledge of the company or their industry. Make sure your cover letter is tailored to every company you apply to, simple touches such as mentioning facts about the company appropriately in your cover letter show that you know your stuff. 4) Your CV is not up to scratch Your CV is any employer’s first impression of you, if it is not up to scratch you will be losing out on interviews. Some of the main things to consider are to keep it short, in general terms if you can try and keep it to one page for every ten years of experience. Make sure your CV also points out your achievements, companies want value for money from their hires. Your achievements should reflect goals they will be looking to achieve by hiring you. Always consider length, content, layout, keywords and spelling & grammar. If you’re not sure or need help always reach out to an expert. 5) You’re not being found Whilst applying for jobs is the most proactive approach to job hunting you also need to make yourself easy to find. Make sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date and matches exact dates and job titles as they appear on your CV. Upload your CV onto job sites to allows recruiters and companies to search for you and approach you directly for roles, this way you know they are already interested. 6) Facebook is letting you down So many people send their CVs to apply for positions and never hear back even though they have the perfect qualifications and experience, why? Your Facebook profile and more importantly what is on it is letting you down. Make sure your Facebook settings are secure so only friends can see your posts and pictures and know who you are connecting with. 7) Sell yourself When applying for jobs you are marketing yourself. Your application form, CV and cover letter all need to sell you as an individual.

A 10/10 resume doesn’t get 30% more interviews than a 7/10 resume… It’s more like 30X more interviews! 😃 Resumes are a top 1% situation just like anything else… Online job postings can get 100's of applications and typically employers are only going to interview the best 5-6 candidates… 😣 So if your resume isn’t AT LEAST in the top 3% of resumes… you’re not getting interviews! 😥 The differences between a mediocre resume and a stellar resume are subtle. Let’s break this down so you can elevate your resume from a 7 to a 10! What does the 10/10 resume on the right have that the 7/10 resume on the left doesn’t? 1. Professional Titles 👨🏫 Right after our name, we need to brand ourselves with high-level skills / industry expertise that the reader can immediately recognize as “WHO WE ARE” 2. A GOOD Professional Summary 😲 A good professional summary doubles down on our professional titles and elaborates with more high-level skills, professional passions, and accomplishments (touching on both strategy and interpersonal skills). 3. The RIGHT Key Skills 😏 On the left, we use many entry-level skills like “attention to detail” and “problem solving” and on the right, we have IMPRESSIVE and RELEVANT skills that are required for our target jobs. 4. Badass Bullet Points 😛 The 10/10 resume uses its bullet points to focus on impacts and results. It’s also far more specific in its details, telling stories that build credibility instead of just listing responsibilities and vague projects. 😅 😊 if you found this content useful do follow Me 🤠 😇 #resume #tips #interviews
