Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles | Transformational Leader | Bringing years of experience in elevating performance, enhancing CX, and driving strategic growth
When we discuss pedestrian crashes and fatalities it’s important that we think of those numbers as what they really are – human lives. Every single pedestrian injured or killed in Virginia is someone’s child, parent, spouse, best friend and whole world. Every Virginian can do their part to value and protect each other on the roadways. That means we have to “slow down and look up” when we’re on the road. I encourage you to prioritize pedestrian safety. Every second counts. #RoadSafety #VADMV #PedestrianSafety #SlowDown

As the Daily Herald Editorial Board notes: it’s not just on the open highway where excessive speed kills: "In June, CMAP put out an ambitious report called Speed Management, which among other things offers recommendations on what to change for the better: roads that can be redesigned to slow vehicles down naturally, better protecting pedestrians and bicycles; workable speed limits can be introduced; embarking on public education to encourage safe driver behavior; and what CMAP calls 'equitable enforcement.' "We urge local officials to study this report." You can read it, too. Learn more about our Speed Management report: https://lnkd.in/geM4HWHQ
