And digital transformations are a lot of change. But you can put yourself in the top 30%. Here are a few recommendations based on my experience leading major digital transformation. Firstly - remember that technology doesn't transform businesses, people do. 1. Start at the top: Ensure your CEO prioritizes digital transformation as a top agenda item. Digital transformation cannot be led by IT. 2. Define a clear vision: Create a compelling digital transformation goal rooted in data and stories of customer and employee pain and desires. 3. Tell the story: Craft a persuasive story to inspire your team and stakeholders to embrace the change, then communicate, communicate, communicate. 4. Solve real customer problems: Focus on addressing genuine customer needs and pain points, not initiatives that a CEO or Executive thinks is "important" to do. 5. Seek help and empower: Seek advice and inspiration from experts and digital leaders, while empowering internal team to collaborate and create solutions. 6. Start small, scale smart: Begin with small customer journey improvements, NOT Big Bang. Then scale up based on successes, learning from failures. Oh... and keep the two way communication going throughout.
