Safety guy creating content on: Safety (Fleet, Personal, & Facility), Leadership, CMV/CDL World, Hazard Recognition, Employee Engagement, Personal Growth, Natural Gas, Facilitation , OSHA Compliance, & Employee Wellness!
MSDs (MusculoSkeletal Disorders) continue to plague the 🚛 industry. Before making abrupt movements, it is a good best practice to loosen up the muscle 💪 group(s) you will be using. Throwing a strap over a load, rolling a tarp, or cranking down the landing gear can all result in shoulder / rotator cuff / or neck injury 🏥, especially after driving all day/night. 🌞/ 🌌 When you hit that 3️⃣point contact to get out of our truck, remember that your body has been sedentary while you used up your HOS, and needs to be re-energized 🪫🔁🔋 Don’t rush to get that load delivered once you arrive at your destination, allow your body to warm up, and get the blood flowing so you will be ready for the next load. Get loose and stay safe & well! #SafeDriving #SafeDelivery #SafeBody #InjuryPrevention #NoMSDs #SafeAndWell #StaySafe #StayWell
If you've ever thrown a strap over a high flatbed load, you know how important your shoulders are to do the job. Plus, shoulders are pretty useful even to those who aren't flatbed truckers. This Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) video quickly presents information related to preserving this part of the body when at work. I recommend taking a look and consider using this and other AMTA videos as part of regular staff safety meetings and wherever else you see fit. --- Michelle Spacil Cliff Litke Andrew Barnes Kristin Picken, CTSP Chad Albert Kelsey Hipkin (she/her) Link: https://lnkd.in/eNGwkjr6

Below is an example of a recent leak investigation we performed for an agency. Communication in construction is just as key as perseverance. To find the root cause we performed a water test to duplicate the issue by isolating each downspout. This is just one example of the thoroughness we provide to owners so they are certain we are fixing the cause of an issue not just smearing sealant on possible causes and sending a invoice. In short we are the exact difference between whole hawg and half way.

Our Land Logistics Working Group is proud to announce the launch of Rev. 2.0 of the Safer Together Packaging, Handling & Movement of Materials Specification. The Specification outlines the minimum requirements expected for the packaging and restraint of freight, and/or Cargo Carrying Units (CCU) and is to be used along with the National Transport Commission Load Restraint Guide 2nd Edition (2004). The purpose of this Specification is to define standardised control measures for the safe packaging, handling and movement of materials onshore, as well as to/from offshore rigs and platform installations, where these requirements are not already defined in the above referenced NTC Guidance. This document is designed to clarify and add to the controls provided in that reference. We are Stronger & Safer Together. https://lnkd.in/gD7FA56R
