With all of the news on DE&I lately being binary - either you are pro DEI or you are very much against it, it has become necessary to try to put companies into those boxes. As such, when McDonalds recently made an announcement about changes to their DEI program, the first reaction by many was to group them with the companies rolling back their programs. This could not be further from the truth though. When looked at more carefully, McDonalds is giving a master class on how to evolve a DEI program so that they maintain well deserved momentum while staying relevant on a very challenging topic.
