🧘♀️ Yoga is great for your body, relaxation, and it can also help decrease headache and migraine attacks? 🫶 Studies show that when yoga is performed 4-5x weekly, there was a marked improvement in headache and migraine attacks 👏, and practicing yoga further enhanced the outcomes of other treatments e.g. medication. It is a gentle form of exercise that has been shown to be especially helpful in those that experience high stress 😣. Yoga can help: ✅ Reduce stress ✅ Reduce anxiety ✅ Reduce depression ✅ Improve sleep Additional benefits of yoga include: ✴️ Reduced muscle tension ✴️ Increased mobility ✴️ Increased circulation ✴️ Increased mind-body awareness All 8 points listed above are important in the treatment and management of chronic headaches and migraine, thus highlighting 💡 how yoga can positively impact these conditions. There are many different kinds of yoga e.g. hatha, yin, vinyasa, incorporating different positions and going at different paces. There are many studios that host yoga classes however yoga can be performed anywhere at any time 👍. You can download apps or watch youtube videos and follow those online classes at home 🏡 at any time of the day. You can do yoga outside 🌳, on the beach 🏖️, on holidays 🛄. You can do a session for 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour ⌛ ...whatever suits your body, lifestyle and preferences. It also doesn't required a lot of space and often the only piece of equipment you need is a yoga mat 😊. ✨ Have you tried yoga before? What type have you practiced? If not, is it something you would consider for your mind, body and migraine attacks? 🤔 #headache #migraine #migrainerelief #yoga #yogainspiration #exercise #mentalhealth #stressrelief #chronicpain
