Recruiters and hiring managers, what say you? Up until today, I have always heard that ATS filters resumes for keywords and key phrases, and then organizes them by relevance. I even made a post about it last week. Then I saw this video, a behind-the-scenes view of an ATS and how it works: https://bit.ly/3YCQHea After a quick Google search, I found article after article about ATS scanning and ranking by keywords from sites like Forbes, Coursera, and Indeed. Then there are many resources for creating ATS-friendly resumes like Jobscan, TopResume, and Skillsyncer. I also found loads of discussion boards with recruiters saying it's a myth. So recruiters, is this true or false? Are candidates wasting their time by filling their resumes with relevant keywords? Inquiring candidates would like to know. #ATS #Recruitment #Recruiter #TrueOrFalse #JobSearch #ResumeScan

Now I know why ATS was rejecting my applications! If you think Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is designed to reject you, you’re not alone. This is one of the biggest myths in the job search process. In reality, ATS is just a tool that companies use to organize and track applicants. It isn’t an evil robot plotting against you. The truth is simple: ATS systems vary by company, and while they help filter and organize resumes, they don’t make the final hiring decisions. So, here’s what I wasn’t doing: - Using relevant keywords. - Avoiding overly complicated formatting. - Keeping my resume easy to read! Make it simple for both humans and machines to recognize your value. Found this helpful? Share this post with someone who needs to hear this!

Get your resume noticed! Read job descriptions carefully, identify keywords, and tailor your resume for success!
Most resumes don't get past the applicant tracking system - ATS, meaning human eyes don't see them. This is because the ATS collects, sorts, scans, and ranks the resumes it receives for open positions, rejecting the “least-qualified” candidates based on format and content. It also eliminates resumes that don't match up with the job description due to a lack of keywords. Take the time to thoroughly read the job description of each application and note all the keywords that stand out. Then, add them to your resume to help it get into the hands of the hiring manager. #resumetips #resumeupdates #ATS #professionaldevelopment #careerdevelopment

A very crucial question that has been bothering me‼️⚠️ 1. Do you really think ATS should be relied on for seeking the best candidates or does it just selects the best résumés? 2. And Given the potential for bias and the risk of overlooking qualified candidates due to keyword reliance, should companies continue to use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) in their recruitment processes, or should they prioritize human review to ensure a more equitable evaluation? Please share your thoughts in the comments💭 👇🏾💬 #softwaredevelopment #ATS
