Founder | Fiduciary, Fee-Only Wealth Strategist | Retirement Planning | Tax-Efficient Income Planning | Estate Planning | Creating Comprehensive Financial Strategies
I love estate planning. Sure. Avoiding probate and delays is good. To me, estate planning is less about taxes, probate and delays, and much more about love. This is our final act of love. Do we leave chaos and confusion, or clarity and calmness? Don’t look at estate planning with dread. Rather, look lovingly at estate planning as the summary of your life and the impact you had on your family, friends and community. Leaving money behind can fulfill many needs. Leaving clarity and final encouraging messages and lessons will have lasting impact. Estate planning is love. Carrie Litzelfelner Sam Schwartz, CFP®

Harnessing powerful diverse life experiences to support growth, while connecting you to an influential trusted network that knows how to win Doing Well and Doing Good.
Today I am celebrating two very special people that I met fairly recently on my journey of positive transformation, people who have been incredible in supporting the evolution of The Positive Transformation Initiative and who are now at the core of our mission, positively impacting the lives of a billion people, sharing as we grow with our expanding global membership in The Club of Doing Well Doing Good Paul Dykes and Louise Perkins what beautiful people you are, incredibly talented with great patience, honesty, humility and integrity, all wrapped into your heart warming personalities and delivered to the world as people who are focused, hard working, diligent, capable, able, willing and incredibly good fun to be with. You personify what it is to be great human beings who care, share and love deeply. What an honour for all who know you. Very personally and importantly to me and Yasmin Barnard you have become great friends, and you are both as close to extended family as either of us could have hoped or wished for. We are so grateful that you came into our lives, your approach to Connecting HOW https://lnkd.in/eh6GZNi6 in delivery on everything that really matters to people goes far beyond the workplace. For many people, starting with myself, we have a very clear understanding of What and Why things matter to our personal lives, families, teams, and businesses, and yet not quite the same ability to know in practical terms, HOW to deliver on those visions and objectives at scale. How you both do what you do is completely unique, and I could stop there. As it’s me clearly I won’t! Categorically there is nothing else like it anywhere on the planet and we have so many examples of that already from the work we are doing together. I am sure Joseph Lyons will support this view. The simple fact is that you are both warm, lovely, amazing people, you are blessed with unwavering hearts of gold and that just adds to your loveliness and ability to deliver effectively, to diverse teams and cultures on all levels. You are both amazing and you have found a unique way to make the hard things, simple to understand, and those simple things that used be hard, easy to deliver! You both make Masterpiece days so much easier! #what #why #HOW #Howisyourweenus

Certainly! Here's an article on the importance of recognizing and understanding the value of the people around us: In the hustle of our daily lives, we often overlook the treasure of value in the people next to us. Whether it's a colleague, a family member, or a friend, each person brings a unique set of qualities, experiences, and perspectives that enrich our lives in ways we may not always acknowledge. To truly understand the value of someone, we must first recognize their inherent worth. This isn't measured in material contributions or achievements but in their very presence and humanity. It's about seeing beyond what someone can do for us and appreciating who they are. When we begin to appreciate the people around us, we create a positive feedback loop. Acknowledgment and gratitude not only make others feel valued but also encourage them to continue contributing positively, creating a more supportive and collaborative environment. By understanding and valuing others, we build stronger, more meaningful relationships. This foundation of mutual respect and appreciation becomes the bedrock of teamwork, family bonds, and friendships that can withstand the challenges of life. The act of valuing others has a ripple effect. It fosters empathy, strengthens community ties, and promotes a culture of kindness and respect. When one person feels valued, they are more likely to pass on that feeling, creating a chain reaction of positive interactions. The value of the person next to you is immeasurable. It's found in their support during tough times, the laughter shared in moments of joy, and the quiet companionship that says, "I'm here." By recognizing and understanding this value, we not only enrich our own lives but also contribute to a more compassionate world.

Inclusion Consultant | Sharing the joy of Inclusion :-D | Chief Inclusion Officer | Strategic Planner | Leadership Developer
Happy Memorial Day to you! I hope you are enjoying time with family and friends. I love the holidays as I reflect on my ability to connect with others and work on intergenerational relationships. I love holiday time because it allows me to learn and spend time with those more senior than me as well as those younger than me. Here are a few things to remember as we connect on this holiday. --- VALUE OF CONNECTION: When we seek the value in those who have come before us, we recognize that we all began from someone. --- VALUE OF NOSTALGIA: I get the best stories and insights as I witness those more senior reflecting on their lives. Thus, this prompts me to reflect on my own. --- VALUE THE NEWNESS: Each new generation brings new insight and learning. I love hearing the new generation's perspectives. It keeps me on my toes. Enjoy your holiday! #joyofinclusion #inclusionexpansion #MemorialDay #InclusionontheSlopes #PhaseOneStrengths #SWORDInclusionSystem

Welcome to The Seen Society! The journey to be fully seen and authentic began 23 years ago, in 2000, when I was 12 years old. I looked in my mother's eyes as we sat in the doctor's office hoping to finally learn the cause of my severe illness. I knew she was scared, but she was trying to be strong for me. Thoughts like, "am I really going to be ok?" and "will I die?" raced through my head. I went from being a normal, healthy, active 12-year-old to a malnourished, sickly adolescent in a span of 5 months. I was suddenly unable to eat anything without intense pain, and I lost 50 pounds in the blink of an eye. The doctor walked in with a grim face. He was stern, but kind. I could tell he was trying to ease the blow since I was so young. I was diagnosed with a chronic, life-long illness called Crohn's Colitis. Crohn's Colitis is a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation in the digestive tract that leads to abdominal pain and other severe bowel and body issues. He reiterated there was no cure and while some newer medications were available, a lot more research was being done. Life drastically changed after that. The next 20 years consisted of many ups and downs, including surgeries, trying different medications, and learning what I needed to do to manage my body while trying to have a "normal" life through milestones like graduating high school and college, starting a career, and growing a family. The medical research for IBD has drastically improved since then. Society has become more inclusive of different needs. However, there’s still a lot of health equity and inclusion work to be done. I realized that most career and leadership advice was not inclusive of people like me – talented, ambitious, high performers, struggling with something people could not see. My career in higher education and consulting equipped me with a myriad of leadership and coaching experiences for a successful career. However, a number of experiences with non-inclusive leaders and visibly ableist environments caused me to fear being my authentic self. I thought if people knew about my illness, they would think I was not dependable and I would be looked over for promotions. My unseen challenges pushed me to be a fierce advocate for inclusion and equity but I always knew there was more power in authenticity. This led me to create The Seen Society, a speaking and coaching business with the focus of amplifying the experiences of women living with invisible illnesses to create capacity for authentic, inclusive leadership. I’m committed to helping more women find career spaces they can thrive in. I’m committed to fighting to eliminate health and education inequities. If any of this story resonates with you, I invite you to follow The Seen Society If you are interested in learning more about partnering with The Seen Society you can schedule a possibility session at www.theseensociety.com. Your partner in building engaging and impactful talent programs, teams, and employee experiences | Adjunct teaching faculty | Content expert and speaker in #Culture, #EmployeeExperience, #EmployeeEngagement
December 7 was supposed to be "a day to live in infamy." Yet as we get further away from primary memories of what happened that day (we no longer have any living survivors, in fact), we tend to forget that we were supposed to remember. Shared memories and shared stories are key building blocks of #culture and change and the overall #employeeexperience. Without collective memories, you lose perspective on what you're moving ahead to, and why you are doing so. You miss out on the lessons of insight, on the clarity and healing gained from looking back. You also miss out on preserving the key traits and knowledge you want to retain. While forging ahead is important, make sure you do so with a solid footing in the past. When transforming a culture or the way your team is organized, look for signposts from the past, seek to preserve key elements, and ask what you are ready to leave behind. By honoring history, you create a vision for the future.
