Why Ex-Post CO2 Quantification Matters? Accurate ex-post CO2 quantification is crucial for several reasons: Enhanced Integrity of Carbon Credits: By precisely measuring the actual amount of carbon sequestered or emitted post-project implementation, we ensure that the carbon credits generated truly reflect the environmental impact. Improved GHG Accounting: Accurate ex-post data feeds into more reliable Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories, essential for setting realistic and effective climate goals. Trust & Transparency: In the carbon market, trust is paramount. Accurate quantification builds confidence among stakeholders, from investors to the general public, ensuring that carbon offsetting is not just a concept but a tangible, measurable action. Our Commitment to Making a Difference At Trusted Carbon, our dedication goes beyond just measuring carbon. We're part of a larger movement towards a sustainable future, where every step we take is backed by data, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to our planet. Join Us in This Journey We invite you to learn more about our work and join us in making a meaningful impact on the world. Sustainability at Deloitte | former GHG Protocol Secondee at WRI | Board Member at The Epilepsy Foundation of New England
The team at Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) released an incredibly helpful FAQ resource that answers many common questions and should help users calculate Scope 2 emissions. We get many of these questions from our clients, and oftentimes, need to make an interpretation of the standard or guidance. Some of the FAQs include: My company rents office space but cannot obtain energy use or bills from the landlord. How can I calculate scope 2 emissions without this information? How should my company account for electricity-related emissions from co-located data centers? What is the emission factor for renewable energy? Can a hotel deduct the electricity from their carbon inventory that is associated with EV charging for guests? Great work by the GHG Protocol technical support team and happy to put these to good use!

🚨 The new State of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) Report came out last week! 🚨 Put together by market experts, the State of Carbon Dioxide Removal report gives a detailed look at how carbon dioxide removal is progressing around the world. Here are 3 key takeaways: 1️⃣ Meeting our climate goal requires BOTH rapid greenhouse gas emission reductions AND near-term scale-up of carbon dioxide removal (CDR). 2️⃣ We need policies and guidelines that will drive DEMAND for CDR solutions, including more precise claims guidance for buyers. 3️⃣ CDR deployment is growing rapidly, albeit from a small base, making it all the more important that we work together to drive policy and frameworks that will support this important industry. 👉 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dfR8fG-q #carbonmarkets #BlueLayer #CDR
