Today marks the first day of Spring! Sure, there was about 2 feet of snow in my yard a few days ago, and there are still some lingering piles...but the sun is out and we are entering the season of new beginnings. It's weird that January 1st always gets the attention to start something new, or set a goal. It's still cold, dark and not the most motivating time of year. It is hard to get out and into the world when you need several layers to do so... Why not make spring the time for that? Spring makes more sense to set that goal or try a new plan to accomplish something new. The days are longer, the weather is (usually) warmer, and the world is literally coming back to life from winter. It is literally the season of a fresh start! So, spring has sprung. Summer heat and staying safe. What tips do you have for people to stay cool and safe during the hot summer days?

Now is a great time to set goals for the year. If you made New Year's resolutions on January 1st, you most likely have forgotten about them by now. As humans, we mimic nature. Winter is a time for rest and reflection, not for goal-setting. So, if you've abandoned your 2024 resolutions already, don't blame yourself. Blame the cultural norm to set goals in the middle of winter! With March right around the corner, you will notice sprouts peaking out of the ground, animals emerging from hibernation, and the days getting longer. Just as nature is beginning to wake up, so are we! Try to think about what you want to accomplish over the spring and summer months. It may surprise you that the goals you set on January 1st are very different than the goals you set now. This is because you are in a place where your energy and motivation are higher. You are ready to begin your growth and start new projects! I'm planning to carve out some extra time in the mornings to journal about what I want in the next 6 months. What do you think? Between school breaks, holidays, and cold weather keeping you inside, it can be easy for things to get hectic in the winter. Here’s 3 tips to keep your family connected and cozy!

My husband and I take time early each January to set goals for the upcoming year. And then we review them in December right before making next year's list. We aren't always great about reviewing them throughout the year, unfortunately. This means that as we round out December one of us usually looks around at our life, our home, our finances, our family, our dreams, and remembers the goals and then feels frustration because we can't see progress. The house still needs more work. Our finances could always improve. Our dreams seem far off still. Our kids and family are always in chaos. But then, the other one pulls out our journal and reminds us both of the goals and - much to our dismay - we realize how many goals we actually had met. And how many other goals we had created and accomplished that year that hadn't made it to our goal list. Our fear is that we waste year after year thinking we are swimming forward towards our dreams, but in reality we were just treading water. I guess this is a healthy fear because it prompts us to paddle. What we don't realize is that while we are in the water, every bubble, every wave, every current, can seem like they are so powerful that they will sweep us away from reaching our goals. But when we step back at the end of the year we realize that what seemed like rushing waves and deep currents that kept us just gasping for air, look much more like a lazy river meandering through the stages, goals, dreams, and joy of our swim. We see how far we have come and how much we can actually handle. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves to zoom out.

My favourite season, Winter, is just around the corner, however, I fully appreciate that for many people the colder and darker months are really tough and drag on forever. It’s happening again… I mean what you almost swore won’t repeat itself - same every year. January ends in 3days This means 4weeks out of 52 weeks gone. Incase you haven’t noticed, it’s 48weeks left. If you didn’t get that, then get that one out of 12months is gone. You don’t think it’s a big deal because you think you still have time. No, you don’t. You don’t know how other months intend to sneak up on you. When the year started, I gave you a plan that could help you in investing in Real Estate this year. If you take on a six months plan, you will own two properties in 2024. If you take on a three months plan, you could own at least three properties in 2024 with 3months break. You’ve missed January, when exactly are you starting? Don’t put yourself in a position of having to rush towards the end of the year. This time, it was not an information problem. You had that information, at least that’s why I show up. Start anyways. I really wanted to talk about how my week had been but this will help someone more than the story of my week would have. The Perfect Conditions Don't Exist As usual, Justin Ricklefs post (see below) is 💯. His topic brings to mind two thoughts. One, albeit ham-handed, is the admonition, widely shared and used in countless presentations about taking action, by General George S. Patton: 'A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.' It is hard to beat a good Patton quote! However, the other thought is a bit more circumspect and relatable. When Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) was President, he established a cadence to speak to citizens called Fireside Chats. Families and individuals gathered around their 📻 to hear the President directly and without filters. One such talk was given 86 years ago, nearly to the day. In it, FDR also spoke about how 'the perfect conditions don't exist.' After addressing the salient points of his talk, much of it designed to inform the public about the actions that were being taken, the President concluded with the following statement, something that every would-be entrepreneur, current business owner, change agent, and leader should take to heart: "I propose to sail ahead...For to reach a port, we must sail—sail, not tie at anchor—sail, not drift." ⛵, RdM #leadership #action

Why are you still thinking in old autumn’s thoughts, not noticing that winter has almost passed and you're not ready for spring and its new beginnings? Because your thinking has not changed Where You Are Now: It's easy to get comfy with the same old thoughts, like the cozy feeling of autumn, and not see that winter has quietly come and gone. Hibernating too long means you are caught off guard as spring arrives when everything starts anew, but also when you must let go of the old. What's Coming: Winter is wrapping up, and suddenly, it's almost spring. You weren't ready for the change. This is a tough spot to hold on to what's familiar (autumn and winter) while spring, with all its chances for starting fresh, is knocking at your door. Life moves through seasons, each with its own time for sticking with what we know and times when we need to be brave and try new things. As the saying goes, there's a time for everything: a time to reap and sow. Are you hanging on to old ways because you feel safe, or is it time to bud into the new stuff spring offers, even though it might be a bit scary to let go of the past? 💥It’s hard to see the picture when you’re in the frame!!💥💥 It’s vital, which means life (vital signs), for you to move from the cold and slow-moving pace of winter into the fresh start of spring.
