Money markets are paying the highest they have since last century. Technically, it was 1999, but saying “last century” sounds so much cooler. 😎 This is not a recommendation nor advice. However, I have been reminding my clients to be sure they are getting the best rates on their outside cash holdings. Current money market rates are at 5%. This sure feels better than what cash was paying before, which was basically nothing. Again, not advice, but just mentioning what money market accounts are yielding now. 💰

U.S. money fund assets saw the level of money flowing in pick up with $60.98 billion added in the week ending November 28, increasing their total AuM to $5.765 trillion, according to Money Fund Report®, a weekly publication of EPFR. The iMoneyNet Money Fund Average™ 7-Day Yield for All Taxable money-market funds remained at 5.07%.
