Gaining insights from attending travel and hospitality conferences around the world, this new #HotelExecutive article written by #HotelPlanner CEO Tim Hentschel delves into the latest innovations, opportunities, and challenges in AI, offering a glimpse into the thoughts of industry insiders… “In March 2024, visionary leader Elon Musk opened another artificial intelligence startup, xAI, as an open-source challenge to ChatGPT, which is owned by OpenAI. Then IBM announced it was slashing its staff size in its increasing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology,” Tim writes. “On the same day, the European Union’s parliament endorsed the world’s inaugural comprehensive regulatory framework for managing AI at the forefront of technological investment. The EU AI Act, enacted in 2021, categorizes AI technologies based on risk levels, from "unacceptable" to low hazard, with enforcement slated by the end of May this year pending final checks and approval from the European Council. There is no denying that we are in the midst of a technology revolution. Artificial intelligence is drastically transforming every industry, and the hospitality sector is no outlier.” #technology #hotels #AI #tourism HotelExecutive Click to Read More:

Thanks Mark Milstein for mentioning our recent update to the IPTC Photo Metadata User Guide! Here's a direct link to the guidance on applying metadata to AI-generated images: https://lnkd.in/dSdenSju #genai #generativeai #metadata #images
Partnerships and business development wizard | Ethical AI whisperer | Clean data pioneer and AI evangelist | data governance | Licensed media domain expert | BIPA, GDPR & EU AI Act Resource
IPTC has updated its photo metadata standards regarding AI generated images. "We recommend using the Contributor field, which was introduced to the IPTC Photo Metadata standard in version 2022.1. Contributors are people and things that contributed to the creation of the image, so this includes what an AI generator does. The Contributor field is represented by a structure consisting of a name, optional identifier and a role attribute. The "role" attribute is a way to outline the way that each entity contributed to the creation of the image. In the Generative AI context, the URI value https://lnkd.in/dTDNbWV5 should be used as it expresses "Content Originator = a party which originated the content of the item". https://lnkd.in/dAaYw4iq

“Long ago, Ben Graham taught me that ‘Price is what you pay; value is what you get.’ Whether we’re talking about socks or stocks, I like buying quality merchandise when it is marked down.” — Warren Buffett This article highlights whilst you may get a cheaper price in the short term it could go up. Value is in reputable licencing contracts. We're seeing this in a range of content deals now with newspapers, music and imagery. Even in the world of AI, if it looks too cheap to be true , it probably is, but the product faults could lead to a loss of a critical AI tool within your business. So, questions I'd recommend asking AI vendors, where has your training data come from? Do you have rights to use it?

If I may put it in desi language “sara jhagda ki khatam kar Diya”, with this simplistic notification on AI. However, I feel this is a back end remedy and that there is need to lay down process for checks and balances on how companies should drawdown and utilise the copyrighted work to avoid disputes. #ai #machinelearning #euaiact #generativeai
