The day serves as a powerful reminder of resilience and the importance of fighting for what is right. And the cost that comes with it. It would be absolutely wonderful to see in our rapidly evolving world, AI and technology being used to foster understanding and harmony across all borders. By leveraging it, we can maybe work towards a future where our innovation propels us to see we are all just human. And should be treated as such. Wishing everyone well on this important day. The impact of generative AI on Black communities. As often happens, the advent of a new technology can create or exacerbate divides, including the racial wealth gap. This article explores how gen AI may affect Black communities and Black workers. While the technology has the potential to widen the racial gap, it’s also possible to shepherd this new technology in an inclusive way that not only yields equitable benefits for Black and other marginalized communities but also accelerates the closure of the racial gap. #genAI #AI #inclusion #equity #DEI

William Lockett has just posted this very worrying article about a project to create a chatbot to represent Alan Turing, to bring his memory back to life. Apart from the ethics of creating a chatbot without being able to gain his permission, there are many issues about the ability to train such a bot, given the paucity of materials from Turing. In addition, there is the question of how quickly the bot will be compromised by opponents of LGBTQ+.
