The research highlights that 90% of people with type 1, and 60% of people with type 2 diabetes, face negative attitudes from others. This calls for urgent action, and a global team of experts, including those with personal experiences of diabetes stigma, are leading the charge. They're not just identifying the prevalence and consequences but are actively seeking solutions to end this stigma. Today is National Wear Red Day, and communities all over will light up red to raise awareness of the No. 1 killer of women: cardiovascular disease.   Since 2004, the American Heart Association signature women’s initiative, Go Red for Women, has addressed the awareness and clinical care gaps of women’s greatest health threat, heart disease.   We, at Community Health Northwest Florida, stand ready and prepared to meet the evolving needs of women today, and every age, every stage and every season of their lives as their trusted, relevant source for credible, equitable health solutions.   We are wearing red to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and help save lives. Why? Because losing even one woman to cardiovascular disease is one too many.   Together, we can continue to wear red, share and rock our red, all to help save more lives.   #WearRedDay

I can’t immediately think, at least for those with Type 1, of a long term condition where patients can, and are, self managing based on clinical readings and titrating medication and lifestyle accordingly.
