Even with recent industry layoffs, the tech talent shortage shows few signs of abating. To attract this critical segment, it’s important to understand what they want (hint: it’s not just compensation). Other factors that are important to #digital #talent for at least one of the four decision moments are meaningful work, support for employee health and well-being, and workplace flexibility. According to McKinsey & Company’s recent survey, more than a third of respondents (37 percent) cited meaningful work as a key factor in their decision to take a new job. But how do digital workers define meaningful work? For example, Netflix proclaims that its “engineers ship thousands of lines of code every day,” their work translating into “new product features, delivery of content, and algorithms for our service.” Furthermore, companies are crafting employee value propositions (#EVPs) for their careers websites that speak directly to digital talent, emphasizing the opportunity to learn and grow alongside world-class experts, as well as being part of a mission-critical team that is breaking new ground.
