To prepare our young people for upcoming opportunities, we as a community need to work together to help equip them for the ever-evolving workforce. "Futurists believe that 65% of current students will have jobs that do not yet exist." As a futurist and optimist, our CEO Robert Santana, MBA, emphasizes the importance of providing our youth with the necessary skills and resources to ensure they are future-ready. Driven to level the academic playing field for all students, Generation17 Young Leader Zubair Junjunia founded ZNotes, a website for students to share their study materials for standardized testing. What began as a small online forum is now a global platform used by 4.7 million students and educators for open access to high-quality education. Generation17 is an initiative in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that aims to harness technology to elevate the voices of young leaders around the globe who are working to achieve the Global Goals in less than 10 years. Established by the United Nations in 2015, the Global Goals—or Sustainable Development Goals—provide a framework to address pressing global challenges including poverty, inequality, climate change, and peace and justice, to build a better future for all by 2030. https://lnkd.in/dzeTKDR7

Strategy Director at RoyceComm / Australian Government Advisory Committee on Tourism - Thrive 2030 / Board Member, Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism
I have great faith in Australia’s ‘youth’. In attending our eldest daughter’s School Assembly this week, the occasion marked the traditional leadership baton handover from soon departing Year 12s to their Year 11 peers taking over their school leader roles as Term 3 closes. St Catherine's School It was a moving but enjoyable hour, as Year 12 leader passed ‘onto’ her Year 11 replacement. Fun intersected with responsibility, respect for traditions also tied to good things for the future. Those that spoke - all articulate and with positivity. Our eldest daughter being one of the recipients with proud parents watching on! Because she & the others collectively had to earn it. All having been through a long, informed & educative process around leadership, before preselection out of the student body. I’m sure something not dissimilar now occurs at many other Australian senior schools. I hope so. The encouragement to constructively lead & make positive impact is so encouraging. Many in the school audience giggled when in a Vox pop style farewell video by the Year 12s they highlighted that word - youth! I liked this. Because Generation Z (a label in itself), is actually much more than this. For our future female & male Australian leaders, they are equipped more than any previous generational cohort, with the depth in learning & immersion in society to tackle well what’s coming & maintain one hopes is a strong and sustainable Australia. Let’s bottle it! #auspol #ausbiz #generationz #femaleleadership #youthleadership #youth #elections2024 #sustainability #schooleducation #covid19aus #lockdowns #zoom #leadership #src #homeschooling

Social Action has always been a key part of every students study program at the EKC Group. Staff and students at EKC Broadstairs College support and engage with a wide range of community focused projects over the year so it’s been interesting to read the latest blog, from the Leadership Skills Foundation that highlights the rise of climate anxiety, and how engaging in social action can redress the balance #socialaction #studentled #climateaction https://lnkd.in/edUqg9Mh?

Welcome to Young Life's Developing Global Leaders Program (DGL) – a mission of hope and empowerment in the fight against poverty worldwide. At DGL, our mission is clear: to develop and disciple leaders who will break the cycle of poverty and make a lasting impact in their communities. We believe that with the right education, mentorship, and support, emerging leaders can bring hope and creativity to even the most challenging situations. Here's how it works: Students are nominated by local and national Young Life leaders based on their leadership potential, commitment to service, academic ability, involvement with Young Life, personal faith, and economic need. Once selected, these students are sponsored by generous individuals, families, churches, and businesses, providing them with full tuition, leadership training, and a stipend for living expenses. Throughout the program, students are expected to excel academically, serve as Young Life leaders, replicate their impact by recruiting new leaders, and stay connected with donors and mentors. The results are transformative: DGL alumni go on to pursue careers in various fields, while many continue their involvement with Young Life as staff members or financial supporters. Join our community of sponsors and partners in shaping a brighter future for young leaders worldwide. Together, we can make a difference and break the cycle of poverty one student at a time. Visit our website to learn more about our program and how you can get involved: https://lnkd.in/gnAQeSJC #DevelopingLeaders #EmpoweringCommunities #YoungLifeDGL
