【Fam Fun Sketch captures heartwarming moments, preserving moments of family happiness forever】 In celebration of the "30th Anniversary of the International Year of Families", BGCA has been hosting family themed activities throughout the year! Recently, the JC Parent Wellness Project hosted the Carnival & Exhibition. In addition to joint activities for parents and children, families came together to brainstorm and create heartwarming moments. The market also gave parents and children the opportunity to become stall owners, showcasing their handmade crafts, serving coffee, twisting balloons, etc. Creating a festive atmosphere. In the exhibition, mothers stepped out of their comfort zones to transform old clothes into works of art, showcasing the creative process and the achievements of so many people along the way. Throughout the event, surprises were prepared for different families. Speed sketch illustrator Moving Drawing was invited to secretly capture moments of joy. When families receive the artwork, there is a look of surprise and happiness. Through these drawings, shared trivial memories during the event were triggered, appreciation and praise were exchanged between family members. Each artwork serves as a record of warm moments for the family, preserved forever. Did each family's smile in the video bring back memories of your own moments of joy with your loved ones? Sun's out, baby's out. Here are some ways you can have fun with your bundle of joy during summer, all while keeping you both safe. 1, Swim with your baby in a supervised pool. If your little one can't support their head still, you can sit in a baby pool or splash pad. Make sure to dress your baby in swim diapers, and if you're experiecing postpartum bleeding, stay out of pools for now. 2. Take a low-impact nature stroll. A nature stroll can be a fun and relaxing activity for you and your baby. Make sure to dress you and baby appropriately for the heat. 3. Go to a farmer's market. While a newborn is too young to enjoy anything other than breast milk, you can still introduce them to a range of vegetables and fruits. They will definitely enjoy the colors and textures of different produce. 4. Visit the library or a baby-friendly museum. Libraries may have fun interactive storytelling activities your baby can enjoy. Additionally, museums can have a ton of hands-on sensory exhibitions for your baby to enjoy. Air conditioning is a plus! 5. Enjoy a picnic or barbecue with the entire family. Spending quality time in nature with delicious food can be a great way to introduce your baby to the entire family. If you don't want your baby to get passed around, you can also tell family members you don't want your baby to get overheated and can get away with some private time with just the two of you. What experiences are you looking forward to this summer? Let us know in the comments below. #summer #newborn #momtok #babytok #pool #nature #motherocity #postpartum

🍂 6 Tips for Moving with Kids in Autumn 🏡 Moving can be challenging, especially with kids in tow—but it doesn’t have to be! Here are 6 tips to make your autumn move smoother and more enjoyable for the whole family: 1. Involve the Kids in the Process 🖍️ Make your children feel part of the move by involving them in packing their own belongings. Let them decorate their moving boxes and choose items to keep close during the journey. 2. Plan for the Weather 🌧️ Autumn weather can be unpredictable. Make sure to pack warm clothes, waterproofs, and have towels handy in case of rain. Keep an eye on the forecast and plan accordingly. 3. Create a Moving Day Survival Kit 🎒 Prepare a bag with snacks, drinks, toys, and essentials like wipes and a change of clothes. This will keep the kids occupied and comfortable during the move. 4. Set Up Their Room First 🛏️ Once you arrive, prioritize setting up your kids’ rooms. Having their familiar belongings around will help them settle in more quickly and feel at home. 5. Explore the New Neighbourhood 🌳 Take a break from unpacking and explore your new surroundings. A trip to the local park or a walk around the block can help your children feel more comfortable in their new environment. 6. Plan a Fun Activity Post-Move 🎉 Reward the whole family with a fun activity after the move is complete. Whether it’s a movie night or a trip to a local attraction, this gives everyone something to look forward to. ✨ Moving with kids in autumn can be a breeze with a little preparation. Beyond #WorldBookDay. 📚 🚀 🎉 First of all, Happy World Book Day! It has become a wonderful childhood institution for British households. Whether it's picking something to read or battling to get costumes right. I did, one year, make my child and co-founder into a 'Wonka Bar' which she could not walk in. I suggested she hopped through her school day. She objected and insisted on design changes. It was possibly the world's first Wonka dress with punk side splits. Vivienne Westwood would have approved, I'm sure. I have always loved World Book Day, possibly a bit more than the kids. It is difficult in a world of devices and distractions to keep the reading flame alive beyond the annual festive celebrations and those early bath, bed, and story days. The punctuation in your statement is mostly correct. I made a small adjustment for clarity: The language we use, such as 'my child doesn't like reading,' needs to change. You wouldn't say, 'My child doesn't like eating,' if they tried spinach and artichokes and found both disgusting. They haven't enjoyed what they have read, but they will one day find something they like. The analogy of food isn't just a one-off. We need to think of reading consumption in the same way, with the same level of importance. There will be people reading this and internally confessing that they hardly read and they did fine. Shouldn't we want more and better for our children? I lived on McDonald's cheap meals in my 20s, and I'm fine, but it isn't a lifestyle choice I would risk encouraging or turning a blind eye to with my children. This doesn't have to be another thing on the list of things you are failing to cover as a parent or guardian. It can be something that can be a fun bonding exercise if you add a little humor and truth to it. We are launching a mini initiative offering advice to families on how to help their kids become lifelong readers. You can find them on our socials. *warning* I will be unsupervised with this content, so you will see full mum skills on the production quality, and my co-founder (and daughter) would like to distance herself now from the aesthetic choices made. Spiritually, she is behind it. Advice-wise, she can testify to its effectiveness. Design-wise, she does not hold any association with it whatsoever, other than to say if I dug deep enough I can do better. I can tell you, I can't. I dug deep, and I got nothing. #ReadersForLife#FamilyReading#LifelongReaders#BookishAdvice#ParentingTips#LiteracyInitiative#WorldBookDay#ReadingSkills #readingforpleasure #literacythroughreading

Young and trendy. Hip and connected. Are we talking about young professionals or empty nesters? The fact is—could be both! Empty nesters may not be all that different from their young profesh children they just launched off. They want to stay connected. They want to be able to hold a conversation on the latest trends with their kids. In short, saying… “Empty nesters, ready to settle down and do a puzzle and drink herbal tea?” That might not fly in your branding messaging anymore. Empty nesters aren’t the same as senior citizens. With a wide range of ages and interests, it’s less staying in, and more “now that our time is our own, what fun activity should we go do?” Empty nesters can be 50-65. Not all quite old enough for the senior discount. And not all of them want it, even if they do qualify. Appeal to their youthful side. Highlight the walkability of your community. Show off the neighborhood eats that are a quick bike ride away. Let your messaging speak in a balanced voice—about quality amenities (not quantity). Bring your branding into a less trendy, more classic “vibe.” As long as you know the empty nesters’ hopes, dreams, and desires, you can help fulfill them. Speak to the aspirational, youthful part of them. https://lnkd.in/gNNjDXf6
