I am excited to announce that I have recently completed my PhD in Hydraulics, specializing in the preparation and properties of hybrid-based carbon adsorbents for water decontamination. My thesis, titled "Preparation and Properties of Hybrid Based Carbon Adsorbents: Application for Water Decontamination", explored innovative solutions for improving water quality through advanced adsorption techniques. Throughout my research, I developed a strong expertise in: - Laboratory: tools, instruments and protocols. - Synthesis and characterization of #carbon, #nanoparticles (iron oxides) and #biopolymer (like alginate) materials. - Water treatment technologies and methodologies. - Environmental impact assessment and mitigation strategies. - Advanced analytical techniques XPS, FTIR, XRD, TGA, SEM-EDS, ash content and BET. - Data interpretation: Origin, Highscore, CasaXPS etc.. - Drawing and presenting high resolution of data. I am passionate about leveraging my skills and knowledge to contribute to cutting-edge research and practical solutions in water purification and environmental sustainability. I am currently seeking postdoctoral positions where I can collaborate with leading researchers and institutions to further advance this critical field. Here are the details (job): - Work at the interface of chemical reaction engineering and synchrotron radiation (X-ray) diagnostics of catalytic processes at work. Trust me when I say that there are very few people working at this interface, so pretty much everything you see will be novel. - Join a Collaborative Research Centre (CRC), one of the largest single funding instruments in Germany (or Europe). Multiple PIs, postdocs, and PhDs work on coordinated projects towards a central theme, in this case development of Smart Reactors for advanced chemical/catalytic process engineering. CRCs include plenty of opportunities for networking, collaboration, and a dedicated training/support/mentorship program. - Work in the wonderful northern German city of Hamburg, with strong connections to technical/applied research, and large scale infrastructure at the PETRA III synchrotron. You probably won't like the weather, but you will like the people. Or at least... they tell you if they don't like you. They're very direct that way. - Work with me, but not for me. Project description: "The project aims at fundamental understanding of properties of solar cell materials as a basis for improving solar cell performance. The main route for improved performance explored is tandem solar cells, where the current bottleneck is a stable and efficient top cell. The starting point is the commercial and high efficiency CIGS-technology, where Ag-alloying can be used to tune properties suitable for a top cell. Here, Ag-alloyed CIGSe will be studied in both the stoichiometric chalcopyrite (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2 and Cu-poor (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)3Se5 ordered vacancy compound (OVC) phases. As these normally form a phase mixture in solar absorber films, which is believed to cause metastabilities and adversely affect solar cells, carefully repeated material deposition and thorough characterization of the resulting films are necessary. The properties to analyze include phase stability and film morphology, band gap energy and edge positions, conductivity type and doping density, light absorption and ionic mobility for dopants. All these will be studied for different alloy compositions and in relation to the conventional CIGSe within this project. The results will be cross-verified by first-principles calculations."
