Moving forward 👍
We have a deal! United Airlines and American Airlines both say they support City of Chicago's plan to change the order of construction, with the first satellite concourse getting underway while planning a phased construction of the Global Terminal. If enough money is left over, Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) - O'Hare & Midway International Airports would move forward with construction on the second satellite concourse and the tunnel connecting the two concourses.

Senior Business Development Manager - ENGIE North America (A clean energy services company delivering integrated, renewable and low-carbon energy, wastewater and infrastructure improvements to enhance quality of life)
Great news for the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) - O'Hare & Midway International Airports and the #airport #industry! American Airlines and United Airlines on Friday announced support for extensive renovations at O'Hare International Airport, effectively allowing a major rebuilding project to proceed, weeks after #Chicago #Mayor #Brandon #Johnson made key revisions to the construction schedule. American and United, the airport's largest carriers, signed off on the Terminal Area Project after the city proposed changing the order of construction on the new Global Terminal and nearby satellite concourses, the Chicago Tribune reported. In a reversal of previous plans, work on the new terminal, which is slated to replace Terminal 2, will be accelerated, while the construction of two satellite concourses will be delayed. American Airlines, in a statement following news of the agreement, in part commended Johnson "for his commitment to phase the project in a way that prioritizes the Global Terminal and the most impactful elements of TAP..." United also released a statement, saying, "We are pleased that Mayor Johnson and his aviation department have put forth a phasing plan that will ensure that TAP funds are first spent on the mission-critical portions of the program — the O’Hare Global Terminal and Satellite 1..." #Letsfly! https://lnkd.in/gpJyRFAn

A #BizAv building boom in New York led by The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and Sky Harbour Group is a welcome development for private aviation in the metropolitan region adding much-needed aircraft shelter space to what is one of busiest airspaces in the country. Contention for hangar space is a perfect analogy of what happens to inflight Wi-Fi above this busy region -- when too many users have to share the same Wi-Fi bandwidth, the space is jammed leaving some with limited or no capacity. In Wi-Fi terms, this equates to increased latency, lag and being disconnected. Not so with SmartSky. Our patented beamforming technology assigns each plane a separate connection so there is no so there's no signal sharing with other aircraft. Unlike other ATG, this means continuous connections over the busiest airspace – even while waiting to land. Teamwork makes the dream work! Behind the scenes, airport boards, industrial development authorities, architects, engineers and design teams all collaborate to make a vision come to life. What they create has lasting effect on every community it touches through its economic and social advancements for the area. Like the railroads that brought economic prosperity to the towns they visited, airports have had the same effect. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) estimates airport development to reach more than $62 billion in the next four years, with small and medium hubs predicted to represent the fastest part of that infrastructure growth. What occurs within the boundaries of an airport reaches much beyond its property to impact both land development and residents. With the right partners, the right plan, and right approach, managers and owners of these vital components to the nation’s air traffic ecosystem can ensure their communities thrive for the long-term by securing the future of their airport’s operations. #ThrowbackThursday to 2018 when City of Chicago approved the O’Hare 21 Plan, a massive $8.5 billion project to modernize O’Hare International Airport. CCS played a crucial role in the Master Plan, from runway modernization to marquee passenger amenities. We worked on projects like runway extensions, renovation of Admirals Club, and upgrades to concourses and corridors. We also contributed to the development of an Aviation Fuel Master Plan Study and the installation of an Engineered Materials Arrestor System (EMAS). We are proud to play a role in transforming O’Hare into a world-class airport. #CCSDifference #CostManagement #BuildingReliability #Collaboration #ExperiencedTeam #ValueEngineering #federal #ConstructionExpertise #OwnersRepresentation #ProjectManagement #CostEstimating #ProgramManagement #RiskMitigation #ExceedingStandards #CommitmentToExcellence #ClientCentricService #ServiceRedefined #QualityAndValue #StrongClientRelationships #WitnessTheSynergy #NoteworthyOutcomes #DedicationToValue #TrustInUs #wetakeonyourvalues #ccsrippleeffect

Peoria is considering building an airport complex to boost the economy. A study suggests this 220-acre complex could bring significant benefits: $1 billion in annual economic impact, $60 million in yearly tax revenue, and creation of 8,000 jobs. The estimated construction cost is $150 million. Similar to Scottsdale Airpark, Peoria Airpark would handle private jets and smaller planes, not big commercial airlines or cargo carriers. The study predicts that initially the airport could house 80 aircrafts, growing to 217 within two decades. #Construction #Airport #Taxes
