Here are a few ways that steel-framed doors can achieve even and silent closure without a traditional handle or latch system 👇 Magnetic Closures Steel-framed doors commonly use hidden magnetic systems to ensure the doors close evenly. These magnets provide a subtle but firm pull, keeping the doors securely in place without the need for a visible latch. Concealed Hinges or Pivot Systems Rather than traditional hinges, these doors may incorporate concealed pivot systems or floor springs, allowing for smooth, self-closing action. This design ensures that the doors close quietly and evenly, maintaining their refined appearance without the need for a standard latch. Soft-Close Mechanisms Many modern steel-framed glass doors are equipped with soft-close features. This advanced mechanism gently guides the door to a fully closed position, preventing slamming and ensuring perfect alignment every time. ➡ Interesting Fact Some designs include weather seals or rubber gaskets along the frame, helping to align the doors evenly when closed. These components contribute to a tight, snug fit while also enhancing soundproofing and insulation. #steeldoors #customdesign #softclose #modernarchitecture #interiordesign #seamlessoperation #luxuryliving #glassdoors #interiordesign #architect #blacksteeldoors

When it comes to exterior architectural projects, perforated metal offers both functional and aesthetic benefits. However, selecting the right material is crucial to ensure durability, performance, and visual appeal. Here are key considerations to guide your decision: 1. Corrosion Resistance: Materials that can withstand environmental elements are essential for outdoor applications. Stainless steel and aluminum are excellent choices due to their high resistance to rust and corrosion, ensuring longevity. 2. Strength and Weight: Consider your project's structural requirements. While stainless steel offers superior strength, aluminum is lightweight and easier to handle, making it ideal for projects where weight is a concern. 3. Aesthetic Appeal: The visual impact of perforated metal can transform a building's façade. Consider the finish and color options available for each material. Aluminum offers a wide range of anodized and powder-coated finishes, while stainless steel provides a sleek, modern look with its natural finish. 4. Cost: Budget constraints play a significant role in material selection. While stainless steel may have a higher initial cost, its durability can offer long-term savings. Aluminum provides a more cost-effective option without compromising performance for certain applications. 5. Sustainability: Eco-conscious design is increasingly important in architecture. Both aluminum and stainless steel are recyclable, making them sustainable choices for environmentally-friendly projects. At Roy Manufacturing, we offer a variety of high-quality perforated metal solutions tailored to meet your specific architectural needs. Is the choice of different closing mechanisms important? Absolutely! It all depends on the specific needs and function the doors are meant to serve. Various mechanisms, such as magnetic closures, concealed hinges, or soft-close systems, can greatly influence both the aesthetics and everyday functionality of the doors. Each system offers its own benefits and can be tailored to the unique requirements of your space. Take a look at the mechanisms that Black Steel Doors has described for these particular doors. Understanding these options makes the selection process much easier, though sometimes the decision isn’t as straightforward as it may seem! #doormechanisms #steeldoors #blacksteeldoors #interiordesign #softclose #customdesign #modernarchitecture https://lnkd.in/eRMTju9d

+ Sketching +...... ( #03 ) TROMBE WALL – Architectural Notes 1. Concept: A Trombe wall is a passive solar design feature that uses thermal mass to absorb, store, and slowly release solar energy for heating a building. 2. How It Works: A thick, south-facing wall (typically made of concrete, brick, or stone) is placed behind a layer of glass. Sunlight passes through the glass, heating the wall. The wall absorbs the heat during the day and releases it into the interior space at night. 3. Design Elements: -Materials: High thermal mass materials like concrete or masonry. -Glass Layer: A transparent or semi-transparent glass panel in front of the wall. -Vents (optional): Some Trombe walls include vents to allow convection airflow for better heat distribution. 4. Benefits: -Reduces the need for mechanical heating. -Provides a constant, slow release of heat, improving indoor comfort. -Low maintenance once installed and operates passively. 5. Challenges: -Works best in climates with good sun exposure. -Requires precise design to avoid overheating in summer or insufficient heating in winter. 6. Applications: -Ideal for homes and buildings in cold or temperate climates. -Often used in passive solar homes to reduce energy consumption.
