Yesterday, several of our employees across BHE Pipeline Group had the privilege of attending the 2024 ICAN Women's Leadership Conference, themed "Elevate: The Collective Power of Women." It was an inspiring event, and we had representation both in person and virtually from locations ranging from Salt Lake City, UT, to Richmond, VA. The conference featured dynamic speakers and insightful breakout sessions that left a lasting impact on all who attended. Here are some quotes from our team about what they learned and enjoyed. A great insight and plan. When implementing policies, governance requirements and processes to tackle issues of forced labour it's important to remember that a people centric approach should should form the heart of your thinking. This is plan helps to shape your thinking.
It is with great interest and open minds that we're reading the 'Action Plan For Survivor Leadership in the Next Decade' developed by Survivor Alliance, after listening to an important conversation yesterday at the launch event. Survivor leadership is an aspiration that should be central to all work to address modern slavery and human trafficking, and research is no different. We are at the start of the journey from tokenistic inclusion to survivor leadership, with meaningful inclusion as part of the trip. But survivor leadership is the right aspiration not only because it’s the right thing to do, but also because it is essential for improving policies addressing modern slavery and informing them with real experience of people who have been through it.
