International Yoga Day, a relatively recent addition to our global calendar, has quickly gained immense popularity. This day not only highlights the significance of yoga in promoting health and well-being but also reflects the rich heritage of Hindu culture and Indian values that have evolved over time.
For me, International Yoga Day captures the true essence of "East meets the West” exchanging global cultural values and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
But why having good health is a priority now?
The pandemic was a wake-up call, showing us just how important it is to stay fit and healthy, both physically and mentally.
So, these days, people have started to take time out to focus on physical asanas and practices like "𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘮...𝘥𝘩𝘺𝘢𝘯...𝘬𝘳𝘪𝘺𝘢..."
Speaking of health, this International Yoga Day we're going all out to promote well-being at work for our clients:
✅Starting with having a big international yoga day in Brunei, while continuing with Indian clients as well.
✅Organising "desktop yoga" sessions for employees to do quick stretches right at their desks.
✅Offering meditation sessions to help everyone connect mind and body for better focus.
So, here's my suggestion to set up yoga sessions at your workplace. If you haven't tried yoga yet, now's the time!
And, Manplan is here to help you with it at zero cost!
Just drop us an email at info@manplan.in to book your slot, and we’ll be there at your office.

Gurudev @SriSri Ji's Message on International Yoga Day, "Today, when the whole world is passing through a crisis, Yoga has proven to be a boon for mankind. Correct diagnosis of diseases, resolution of problems and boost in self-confidence, is what we see happening through Yoga. The mind remains happy. The intellect becomes sharp. And who doesn't have to do Yoga? We all have to do. But due to lethargy, we just give excuses by saying, 'I don't have time now' etc. You get benefits of Yoga to the extent you give time to it. So, please do Yoga. Do Pranayam. Sit for a while and do Meditation. Without Pranayama and Meditation, Yoga remains just a physical exercise. When we apply all the 8 limbs of Yoga in life, viz., Yama, Niyama, Asanas, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi, we can clearly see the fundamental changes occur in life. We can move from weakness towards strength, from misery towards happiness and towards health. So, come on, let us motivate and inspire all people in this direction. Everyone has to do Yoga.
It is not that you have to follow any particular faith for doing Yoga. It doesn't matter which belief you follow or which community you belong to. Anyone can do Yoga. It will prove to be a boon for you. When we go through a time of crisis, we need more positivity, and it is that positivity which gives us strength. And we attain this positivity through Yoga, Meditation and Pranayam.
When the whole world is passing through a crisis, Yoga has proven to be a boon for mankind. It has proven to be a precious gift to the whole world from Bharat. All in our country from youngsters to elders are required to do Yoga. By doing Yoga, not only we become positive, but we will also succeed in creating a positive environment all around us. Today, it has become very necessary. When people are going through pain, suffering and misery, it is very necessary to awaken confidence and courage in them. Yoga can certainly make this happen.
Therefore, wherever people are going through a negative attitude, speak to them and appeal them to do Yoga. Those who are positive and enthusiastic also should do Yoga, so that their enthusiasm stays on.
Come on, let us celebrate this year's Yoga Day with our family by maintaining social distancing and following other rules and make this life a celebration."
Jai Hind.

Today is the International Day of Yoga(IDY), and I want to extend my best wishes to all yoga enthusiasts out there.
This special day also gives me an opportunity to share my own yoga experience so far.
It’s been a year since I started practicing yoga.
At first, I was skeptical. I wasn’t sure if I could stick with it. But I decided to set some simple goals and give it a try.
To my surprise, yoga quickly became a part of my routine.
Yoga is for the body and the mind. I’m still exploring the mental benefits, but I’ve definitely seen improvements in my physical well-being.
Two things are essential for making any activity a habit: a supportive environment and good guidance.
We partnered with a local yoga center to make yoga accessible to everyone at our Guwahati office of Vantage Circle
Our yoga sessions became more than just exercise—they became a team sport. We supported each other and grew together.
The experience showed me the power of yoga in the workplace. It helps us reduce stress and improve our overall health and well-being.
I highly encourage employers to consider yoga as a team-building activity. It can make a significant difference.
I’d love to hear about your experiences with yoga in the workplace.

Yoga: You Outgrow आलस
Being born and raised in Haryana, the land of doodh-dahi and pahalwans, a strong body frame has always been a part of my identity.
The prevailing belief was that if you don’t feel strong, "Yoga kar lo" was stated as the remedy. Yoga was seen as just stretching, only suitable for the older ones and too slow for the younger and energetic people. I remember once during covid times, after my usual #exercise routine of strength training and running, I tried to touch my feet but could only reach my knees. My toes seemed miles away. That really hit me hard & led me to embark on #MyYogaJourney. Anurag Sharma introduced and guided me to start practicing Yoga.
Until that point, I perceived Yoga as boring and slow. When I first heard the term #Ashtanga, it was then I truly began to #believe in practicing Yoga! You turn off the fan, lay your body on a jute rug, and just do it.
Yoga helps you not only to lose weight but also lifts off the burden of unrealistic aspirations, pressure, and inhibitions. It makes you function in real sense and enables a deeper connection with yourself. Functional means getting better at playing games; enabling #MentalClarity & #SelfDiscovery. It’s a #sport, not a one-day job. You play better and injury-free.
We need a lifetime to keep diving deep into this undiscovered space within ourselves.
Today, as we celebrate the #10thInternationalYogaDay, we feel immense pride. Yoga, originating deeply in India, has grown into a global practice. It feels good to see that a practice originally started in India has crossed boundaries. Millions worldwide find #peace, #strength, and connection through Yoga, a precious gift from India.
Let's carry this legacy forward, not just on #InternationalYogaDay, but every day.

The International Day of Yoga, commonly known as Yoga Day, is celebrated worldwide on 21 June each year. Let me share some interesting facts about it:
Origin and Significance:The initiative for Yoga Day was taken by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his 2014 UN address. He suggested an annual Day of Yoga on 21 June, which is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
This date holds special significance in many parts of the world. In Hindu mythology, it marks the transition to Dakshinayana, and it’s also associated with Guru Poornima, when Shiva (the first yogi) is said to have imparted yoga knowledge to mankind.
The UN adopted the draft resolution for the International Day of Yoga in 2014, and it received broad global support with 177 nations co-sponsoring it in the United Nations General Assembly1.
Benefits of Yoga:Yoga exercises have shown significant benefits for physical and mental well-being. It helps improve flexibility, strength, balance, and reduces stress and anxiety.
Practicing yoga regularly can lead to a healthier lifestyle and contribute to overall wellness.
Global Celebration:The first International Yoga Day was celebrated successfully on 21 June 2015, across the world, including cities like New York, Paris, Beijing, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and New Delhi.
Since then, it has become an annual event, promoting global health, harmony, and peace through the practice of yoga.
So, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner, embracing yoga can bring immense physical, mental, and spiritual benefits!

International Yoga Day, observed annually on June 21st, marks a global celebration of the ancient practice that harmonizes body, mind, and spirit. This date is significant as it coincides with the summer solstice, the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere which is a symbol of light and health.
The inception of International Yoga Day can be traced back to September 2014, when India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, proposed the idea during his United Nations General Assembly address. Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga, with 177 member states co-sponsoring the resolution.
Yoga, with its roots in ancient Indian tradition, offers a holistic approach to health and wellness. It encompasses physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and meditation, creating a harmonious balance between mind and body.
International Yoga Day not only promotes yoga's physical and mental benefits but also underscores the importance of a united, healthy global community.
Since its inception, millions worldwide have participated in yoga sessions, workshops, and events. In 2024, International Yoga Day will celebrate its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of promoting health and unity through yoga.
