One of the academic papers I did on leadership style and how it affects an organisation’s performance was on Mr Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller’s. The summary provided is still applicable. Often times while competing interdepartmental or cross-departmental, people lose sight of the organisation as a whole. Service provided comes in a sequence and often has a chain effect with one another; and if one department is underperforming, it is the duty of others to help bring the standard up. After all, the impact of losing one client affects all departments. ‘Is his fault, not mine’ ❎; ‘is our fault and what can we do? let’s close the gap’✅ I know it sounds cliche, but one for all, is really all for one. After all, when we act as an organisation as a whole, it often time leads to success - taking Mærsk as an example.

A Vision that Stands the Test of Time ✨ In 1994, Maersk’s founder, Mr. Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller, outlined a leadership vision that has remained a guiding light throughout my career. When I joined Maersk in 2002, these principles were already fundamental for every leader in the company, and today, in 2024, I believe they should be followed by any organization aiming for success. 💡 "Always be loyal to the organization... and to one another. 🤝 Always be frank... and communicative with peers and superiors. 🗣️ Always consider the whole, not just your area of responsibility. 🌍 Always acknowledge and admit when things go wrong, accept responsibility for your decisions, and learn from your mistakes. 📚 Always remember that our most valuable asset is our hardworking, competent, and loyal staff." 👥 These values are not just words on a page, but principles I’ve lived by every day. They’ve taught me to work with integrity, always put people first, and view every success as a result of teamwork. 🙌 This vision is more relevant than ever, especially in a fast-changing world and a highly competitive job market. 🌐 These are the values I’ve grown with, believe in deeply, and still drive every professional action I take. 🚀 Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that the true value of a leader isn’t just in the results they achieve, but in their ability to inspire, educate, and support their team. 🌟 It’s because of these principles that I’ve had the opportunity to grow, learn, and tackle complex challenges with a clear, forward-looking vision. 🔑 #Leadership #Values #Success #Teamwork #ProfessionalGrowth #Maersk #ContinuousImprovement
