At BHP, we focus on the safety and integrity of the tailings storage facilities at our operated assets to protect people, the environment and communities where we operate. We are proud to support the launch of the Global Tailings Management Institute (GTMI), an independent non-profit organisation committed to improving the safety of mine tailings facilities worldwide. GTMI will oversee the auditing and certification of tailing facilities assessments against the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM) and will advocate for the implementation and insurance of this standard across the broader industry. We believe that these initiatives are essential for the future of responsible mining and are proud to be part of this important journey. #ResponsibleMining #Sustainability #MiningStandards #BHP
