What’s in a book? We can learn so much from reading. We can gain new perspectives and ideas, explore new topics to expand our knowledge or just escape into the world of great fiction. These are the books that have kept me busy so far this year. I’ve laughed, I’ve learned, and I’ve had my beliefs and thoughts challenged. I’ve loved them all. I’m always looking for recommendations on what to read, to grow my knowledge, expand my understanding, explore difficult and challenging topics and escape into great fiction. What’s your recommendations? #books #reading #learning #bookclub
Hope you enjoyed The Sun Will Rise!
Hi Bianca, Massive Matthew Reilly fan and loved Mr Einstein's Secretary. Recent release to add to your list, Outrider by Mark Wales. Great to see others still picking up physical books to read. So therapeutic.
I’m loving Wifedom at the moment! Something in a similar vein would be Rodham by Curtis Sittenfeld which is amazing
ill add some of these to the reading pile.
Also a Matthew Reilly fan; I'll have to give that one a go (Mr. Einstein's Secretary). Thanks for sharing, Bianca!
I would have read Le Guin's Left Hand of Darkness 40 years ago and always thought it would have made a great movie; maybe not a blockbuster, but certainly as relevant today as in 1969. Apparently the movie rights were sold in 2017 - has anyone done anything with it?
Oooh I was wondering what to read next 👌📚🙌

4moI find this post incredibly interesting. I completely agree with the value of books and the advantages of reading. As someone who has suspected for many years that I am dyslexic, I have very few books I would recommend, but I have always valued access to books and have kids who are avid readers. My favorite books to read to them when they were young were full of pictures, and I could easily tell the story. I had a great time expressing myself and telling stories without the need to read. I like to think this encouraged them to enjoy books in a way that I can't. I love libraries. If you want to find me, I'll be in the reference section looking for data! ❤️
