In case you missed the April 19th Dogs and Data call hosted by Shelter Animals Count and Pedigree Foundation, here are the key learnings for the first quarter of 2024: 🐶 Dog adoptions accounted for 53% of dog intakes in 2024, compared to 52% in 2019. 🐶 Dog return-to-owner outcomes have declined each year since 2019, from a high of 21% of total intakes in 2019 to 18% in 2024. 🐶 Dog transfer outcomes have decreased three percentage points, from 16% of total intakes to 13% of total intakes in 2024. 🐶 Dog non-live outcomes decreased from 9% of total intakes in 2019 to 6% of total intakes in 2021, and have been increasing since 2021, reaching the highest level in 2024, with 11% of total intakes resulting in a non-live outcome. If you care for pets on a stray hold, pre-adoption helps you make sure you're not missing out on interested adopters during the holding period. You might assume that only small, highly desirable dogs get pre-adopted, and they do! But Memphis Animal Services started pre-adoptions in 2019 and found that most of the dogs getting pre-adopted were actually medium dogs over 6 months old - the exact population most in need at their shelter. Fans play an active role in plot and character development. - Recognizing that falling entry barriers generally mean lower margins, IU doesn’t view video as a profit center. Video is a mechanism for creating franchises that are monetized through other channels. - Contrary to the perception that GenAI is currently a hobbyist tool, IU has fully transitioned to AI-enabled content generation. Over the last year, it has created its own fine-tuned models, trained on its IP, and developed a custom workflow. As a result, it has reduced development time on its videos from weeks to hours and reduced content development costs by over 90%. - It intends to productize its workflow as a IU Studio that enables fans to create content using its IP. Remmi's List: New August Lineup! Ahsoka, Sharkbait, Iverson, Skippy, Jack, Winston, RoRo, and BeBe are all looking for a a little break from shelter life. Can you help? #RemmisList is a list of animals in our care who are in the biggest need of #shorttermfoster homes. Studies show that giving a dog or cat a break from the #shelter environment for even a night or two significantly reduces stress which helps to make them more adoptable in the long run. Remmi’s list is made up of our #dogsandcats here at the Angels of Assisi shelter who most need some time out of the #kennels. These animals are either #senior, #longtermresidents, in need of medical care, in dire need of a #mentalhealth break from the shelter, or all of the above. Our staff will even provide training on medication administration for our #specialneedsanimals. While the time in our shelter is temporary for all of its residents, Remmi’s list aims to highlight those who could use a vacation the most. We're delighted to introduce a brand new project! Noah Project – support for animal hoarding. Cornwall Mind and RSPCA Cornwall Branch have joined together to deliver a pilot project to support people affected by Noah Syndrome, a complex mental health problem known as animal hoarding disorder. Animal hoarding is when you keep too many animals to provide proper care for. Often, at this time, the person experiencing animal hoarding is overwhelmed but does not seek support. This not only impacts the welfare of the animals in the property but also the person’s own health and wellbeing and can even affect those around them such as family, friends and neighbours. The Noah Project provides wellbeing support for people in both the early and late stages of animal hoarding. The project will address the underlying cause of hoarding and encourage animal ownership that is healthy, safe and sustainable.
