This recent collaboration I did with Cosplayer and costume creator Mika was not only fun, but also an incredibly rewarding experience. What fascinates me the most is how every single detail matters- from crafting compelling visuals to ensuring the perfect sound mix. Capturing my drama queen 🌟🌸 🎥 Creating Magical Moments with My Niece Using a GoPro! 🎥 I enjoyed creating a special reel video with my adorable 4-year-old niece, capturing her joyful spirit and playful energy. 🌟 We started our day early with the cool morning breeze and the golden sunlight creating the perfect backdrop for our video. Using my trusty GoPro, I captured some amazing cinematic shots highlighting her natural charm and excitement. The GoPro's compact size and versatility allowed us to move freely and shoot from various angles, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable. 🎬 The most delightful part was seeing my niece’s eyes light up with curiosity and enthusiasm. From playing with her favorite toys to dancing her heart out, every moment was filled with pure joy. Her laughter and spontaneous actions were the essence of our reel, and I made sure to capture every precious second. agic: Once we wrapped up the shoot, it was time to bring our vision to life through editing. I used Premiere Pro & After Effects to piece together the best clips, sync the transitions, and add the beautiful song "Naadaniyan" by Akshat for the final cinematic touch. The editing process was both challenging and rewarding, as I aimed to create a seamless and engaging narrative that truly represented our fun day. Final Thoughts: Working on this project was a heartwarming experience that reminded me of the power of storytelling through video. What’s a photoboard? Before the shoot, I scout the location during the same time in the day when we will be filming. This is so I can see how the sun light will interact with the environment. I take note of any issues that might come up with sound in the space. I choose my shots and angles and take pictures. These photos then become — PHOTOBOARDS. Which get approved by the client. I then share the photoboards with the cinematographer and other collaborators. Then when we show up to shoot, we are ready to dive right in. We will make the most efficient use of our time and make the best quality video that we can. Using photoboards makes us more efficient. Using photoboards make us more effective. How do you approach choosing the right outfit for filming? For Melio's brand video, we needed the perfect outfit - effortless yet intentional, professional yet approachable. It also had to stand out against the background, with enough contrast to keep the focus on the actor. Rather than relying on guesswork, we used Photoshop’s generative tools to explore different colors, materials, and styles before making the final call. Seeing the options side by side made the decision-making process faster and more precise. Did it save us time? Absolutely. Did we still spend an hour debating on set?
