🔥 ICE Barcelona 2025 – an exceptional event, and much warmer than London! ☀️ Each day of this event brought something unique – both in business and on a personal level. The meetings I had not only opened new opportunities but also gave me extra motivation to keep pushing forward. One meeting, in particular, stood out – a conversation with someone who truly inspires me. Moments like these remind me why, after every industry event, I crave more. More self-improvement, more progress, more ambitious goals. ICE Barcelona 2025 reinforced my belief that stagnation is never an option. Growth is what matters – and I will never stop chasing it. 🚀

In fact, we had the pleasure of hosting Davide Zanolini, CMO and Executive Vice-President Marketing & Communication at Piaggio, who discussed the company's key values and future challenges in the sustainable mobility sector and emphasised that a candidate must be able to show their own uniqueness to add value to the team. Similarly, Andrea Prati (庞安儒), Onboard Revenues Associate Vice President at Costa Crociere, shared the organisation’s vision towards climate neutrality and the importance of creating a transformative ecosystem. He also noted that when selecting a candidate, the company looks for those who meet their essential cultural requirements, can raise concerns, and whose opinions are valued. Their testimonies emphasise the importance of having a clear purpose and how this influences the choices and decisions of their enterprises. I so appreciate the messages from partners across the industry today asking how I’m doing and if I’m honest, I’m concerned. The proposal to move Tātaki Auckland Unlimited’s destination function into council is something we should all care deeply about. If it goes ahead, Auckland would become the only major city in New Zealand without an independent Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO). Constant change is a huge distraction, but despite this, TAU’s results speak for themselves. As an arms-length RTO, we successfully deliver and attract major and business events, promote Auckland as a vibrant place to live and visit, and showcase our region on the global stage. To remain effective and continue delivering these results, it’s critical that we retain our independent structure. We are committed to helping the region thrive, but we need the support of our industry to keep driving this progress. Potentially, there will be no formal public consultation and a decision finalised in the next few weeks. My hope is that our industry partners will use their platforms to ensure Auckland stays forward-focused and globally competitive.
