Drilling fluid: also known as drilling mud, is a key component in the drilling of wells, particularly in the oil and gas industry. It can be classified into different types, including water-based muds, oil-based muds, and synthetic-based muds, depending on the specific needs of the drilling operation. Each type has its own properties and is selected based on factors like the geology of the formation, environmental considerations, and cost. copyright:Eni #PetroleumEngineering #OilAndGas #Energy #OilIndustry #GasIndustry #DrillingEngineering #UpstreamOilAndGas #DownstreamOilAndGas #EnergySector #OilField #EnergyInnovation #Hydrocarbons #OilAndGasExploration #EnergyEngineering #PetroleumGeology #ReservoirEngineering #EnergyResources #PetroleumIndustry #OilAndGasJobs #OilAndGasTechnology #oil #gas #welltest #industry #engineering #production #petroleum #fundamentals #OilAndGasSector #EnergyTransition #PetroleumProduction #EnergyManagement #PetroleumRefining #OilAndGasDrilling #EnergySolutions #OilAndGasField #PetroleumEngineeringLife #OilAndGasReservoirs #OilAndGasInfrastructure #EnergyEfficiency #OilFieldServices #OilAndGasConsulting #OilAndGasSafety #EnergySustainability #OilAndGasMarkets #PetroleumTech #EnergyDevelopment #societyofpetroleumengineering #SPE

"Piping Designer | Proficient in Everything 3D (E3D) and AutoCAD| Eager to Contribute to Innovative Projects”
#Natural_gas_production is the process of extracting natural gas from underground. Here's a simplified breakdown: 1. Exploration: Geologists search for natural gas reserves using surveys and drilling tests. 2. Drilling: Wells are drilled into the ground to access the gas. In some cases, techniques like fracking are used to release gas trapped in rock. 3. Processing: The gas is cleaned to remove impurities such as water and other substances. 4. Transport: The processed gas is moved through pipelines or shipped as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). 5. Distribution: It is stored and then delivered to homes, businesses, and power plants for use. Natural gas is used widely for electricity, heating, and industrial processes, and is considered cleaner than coal and oil, though it still has environmental impacts like methane leaks.

If you want to understand why the academic community is losing to Big Oil, start here: "This research highlights the urgent need to better understand..." They're not kidding. They describe a horror. An environmental catastrophe unfolding right in front of their eyes. But for them, action is continued #research. We #see the #methane escaping, the #groundwater being contaminated, but all academics see is the number, the parts per million. And their careers and reputations depend on refining that number, and their model of successful climate action, in every urgent situation, is further research. I am not vilifying academics. I am trying to point out something broken. Until the academic community takes responsibility for #corruption in their midst, then #BigOil will continue to shrug off yet another horror story like this one. #investigateMIT #subpoenaMoniz #climateaction
I wrote this a few weeks ago. "The misguided and misinformed attempts to hide the sins of the oil and gas industry by injecting them underground don’t work and are already causing massive environmental issues with no existing solution." And now we get this new paper. "This research highlights the urgent need to better understand the impact of subsurface fluid injection and calls for prompt action to mitigate the environmental effects of oil and gas production." https://lnkd.in/eEa5zmUi

◾Sand control in oilfields refers to the techniques used to prevent sand production during oil and gas extraction. Sand production can damage equipment, reduce well productivity, and cause blockages. Common sand control methods include gravel packing, sand screens, and chemical consolidation to stabilize the formation and prevent sand from entering the wellbore. copyright: Halliburton #PetroleumEngineering #OilAndGas #Energy #OilIndustry #GasIndustry #DrillingEngineering #UpstreamOilAndGas #DownstreamOilAndGas #EnergySector #OilField #EnergyInnovation #Hydrocarbons #OilAndGasExploration #EnergyEngineering #PetroleumGeology #ReservoirEngineering #EnergyResources #PetroleumIndustry #OilAndGasJobs #OilAndGasTechnology #oil #gas #welltest #industry #engineering #production #petroleum #fundamentals #OilAndGasSector #EnergyTransition #PetroleumProduction #EnergyManagement #PetroleumRefining #OilAndGasDrilling #EnergySolutions #OilAndGasField #PetroleumEngineeringLife #OilAndGasReservoirs #Sonatrach #aramco #OilAndGasInfrastructure #EnergyEfficiency #OilFieldServices #OilAndGasConsulting #OilAndGasSafety #EnergySustainability #OilAndGasMarkets #PetroleumTech #EnergyDevelopment #societyofpetroleumengineering #SPE #slb #Halliburton #sandcontrol

The Vital Role of Oil Rigs in Energy Production An oil rig, also known as an offshore platform or drilling rig, is a large structure used for the exploration and extraction of oil and natural gas. Its primary functions include drilling wells into the earth's surface to access reservoirs, extracting oil and gas, and sometimes processing the raw materials to separate impurities. The rig serves as a base for workers, providing housing and essential supplies during operations. Additionally, it is equipped for the initial transportation of extracted resources to storage facilities or pipelines. Oil rigs are critical for energy production, enabling the retrieval of valuable fossil fuels from beneath the earth's surface. video rights : Industrial buyers and suppliers #oilrigs #drilling #engineering #civilengineering #construction #civilconstruction #engenharia #engenhariacivil

A drilling rig is a large, complex machine used to bore holes into the earth's surface, typically for the extraction of oil, natural gas, or minerals. It consists of various components, including a derrick or mast, drill pipes, a rotating drill bit, and machinery for lifting, lowering, and turning the drill string. Drilling rigs can be onshore or offshore, and they may be mobile or stationary, depending on their purpose. These rigs are essential for energy production, enabling access to underground reservoirs and resources. #PetroleumEngineering #OilAndGas #Energy #OilIndustry #GasIndustry #DrillingEngineering #UpstreamOilAndGas #DownstreamOilAndGas #EnergySector #OilField #EnergyInnovation #Hydrocarbons #OilAndGasExploration #EnergyEngineering #PetroleumGeology #ReservoirEngineering #EnergyResources #PetroleumIndustry #OilAndGasJobs #OilAndGasTechnology #oil #gas #welltest #industry #engineering #production #petroleum #fundamentals #OilAndGasSector #EnergyTransition #PetroleumProduction #EnergyManagement #PetroleumRefining #OilAndGasDrilling #EnergySolutions #OilAndGasField #PetroleumEngineeringLife #OilAndGasReservoirs #Sonatrach #aramco #OilAndGasInfrastructure #EnergyEfficiency #OilFieldServices #OilAndGasConsulting #OilAndGasSafety #EnergySustainability #OilAndGasMarkets #PetroleumTech #EnergyDevelopment #societyofpetroleumengineering #SPE #slb #Halliburton

As the oil and gas industry continues to mature, we are drilling in more challenging areas. In many horizontal plays, we are drilling through existing legacy fields with depleted reservoirs. To go along with those depleted reservoir hazards, we are injecting byproduct water into charged shallow injection zones. This combination of charged injection zones, and depleted reservoirs create a hazard that can affect how mud systems are set up and create challenges for how wells are designed. In this month’s #vsoviewpoint, Brian Moore shares how identifying subsurface hazards pre-drill can save on drilling time, cost, and minimize unexpected hazardous operating conditions. #geoscience #drilling #energy #oilandgas #consulting #vso
