Let's talk about "Mattress Mack" Jim McIngvale and his audacious $1 million wager on the University of Houston to win the NCAA basketball tournament. At first glance, it seems like a wild, all-in gamble. But as is often the case, there's more than meets the eye with this crafty furniture tycoon. Here's the deal: 🛏 McIngvale runs a promotion at his Gallery Furniture chain - buy a $4,000+ mattress, get it free if Houston wins it all. 💰 He then bets big on the Cougars to hedge his promotion risk. $1 million at +750 odds to be precise. 💸 If Houston cuts down the nets, he'll rake in $7.5 million to cover thousands of free mattress refunds. 😏 But even if they fall short, all those juicy mattress sales offset his betting losses. It's an ingenious marketing ploy disguised as sports gambling bravado. McIngvale is no reckless Vegas whale. He's a savvy operator leveraging the unholy union of sports fandom and retail gimmickry. Whether the Cougars win or not, Mattress Mack will be sleeping comfortably, stuffed with cash from both angles of his scheme. Gotta hand it to the mattress maverick - he's definitely found his luxurious niche between the economics of sport and the theater of marketing. A true triple-double threat in the arena of American capitalism.

I help professionals transition into business ownership or new careers in the U.S. so they can reach their profit/purpose/passion goals. | 5th Generation Business Owner | #USFranchiseExpert #OwnYourPathForward #BizBuyOwn
Do you remember the movie, the Field of Dreams? The big quote that came from that movie was, “Build it and They Will Come.” Sure enough, they built a field in a cornfield in Iowa and the baseball players came. Today I want to talk to you about how you can build a field of soccer dreams. It’s another take on “Build it and they can come.” You’re likely not going to end up building in a cornfield though! The franchise brand features Five v Five or Seven v Seven soccer. This “small-sided soccer,” as it is known, is really big in the UK and is primed for growth in the U.S. In most venues, the owners typically build six fields and create a space for food/beverage. Here in the US there's still lots of development available as there are only 730 small-sided soccer venues across the US where you can play. If you are like me you might picture this business as something for young kids. Heck no. It's for ages 65 plus all the way down to 3. A lot of the adults are the ones getting into this. In fact, these fields typically are booked from 5 p.m. - midnight during the weekdays, long past a kid’s bedtime and beer can be served, if desired, in most venues. As a business owner, the turf is really making you the money. So this business attracts the same kind of owners as laundromats and self-serve car washes. Because the fields are the hardest working “employee” so to speak. I would like to invite you to my upcoming question and answer session to learn more about this brand. Join me by visiting www.bizbuyown.com. Remember, all my services are free of cost to you. Let's chat and see if this could be a good fit for you. #ownyourpathforward #SoccerDreams #SmallSidedSoccer #FieldOfOpportunity

This is not just any ticket. This is an original ticket to the very first Miami Dolphins game! 🐬 🏈 It's also the ticket to understanding what great sale people do ✅ and don't do ❌ . A few weeks ago my friend went to a sports card & collectible show. He buys and sells authentic sports memorabilia and often finds rare gems, like the original ticket stub he bought below. He has bought and sold mint-condition Mickey Mantle cards, signed Derek Jeter baseballs, autographed Michael Jordan jerseys, and the list goes on! But his all-time favorite team is the Miami Dolphins, and this first game ticket was the most priceless thing until this happened... His flight home to Fort Lauderdale, Florida was delayed. So he walked around the airport in Charlotte and saw an empty rocking chair - next to Dan Marino, who also happened to be at the show. He sat down and asked, "So was the card show all you hoped for it to be?" That one, curious, open-ended question led to an hour-long chat with his childhood sports hero and greatest quarterback of all time. The 🐐 himself, Dan Marino! Sellers, imagine sitting down next to the CEO of the company you want to do business with more than any other. Your dream client. Would you take a seat next to him or her? What would you lead the conversation with? Could you keep the CEO engaged for an hour? Or would you start selling features and solutions? The lessons: Be curious. Talk like a regular person. Find a relevant connection. Detach from an outcome, be present. When you see an opportunity, take your shot. My friend actually bought two of these ticket stubs. He is keeping the mint-condition one and selling the other. Any Dolphin fans out there? #hikeyoursales #sales #salestraining #miamidolphins

The SuperBowl is this Sunday, and with it comes the intense passion and judgement of fans towards their favorite teams and players. From play calling to the referees, fans judge everything about the game. It's amazing to see the dedication and commitment fans have towards their teams - every week for 18-25 weeks a year, they give everything to watch that game and judge every aspect of it. They spend 10-12 hours each week reading and articulating last week's game and predictions for the upcoming one. It's truly impressive to see the level of passion and commitment that fans have for their teams. They know stats, and remember the smallest details. Can you imagine what would happen if they did the same with sales? Would results matter? Would excuses be on the for front? Would their business thrive? Looking inward is a key driver to success. Here’s to a great Super Bowl and great year. #SuperBowl #Football #Passion #Dedication

Tips from a football fan:- 1. You are just destined to live up to 75 years if all goes well. So feel passionate about the club or franchise that you follow and if necessary sell your home to be there for your club (kidding but it's the truth for some of us) 2. Ideology is important. What you stand for? What you want to create out there? Trophies are important but it's not the only destination. Anyone who follows sports long enough knows that the trophies will anyway come home one day but where you stand holistically matters a lot! 3. It's your stadium and your team. Create a place where you will always be welcomed in the stadium. Create your gallery or terrace. Even the owners should take your permission to witness the match alongside at the terrace. You shouldn't be made to stand in queue and wait online for tickets that you will never get :p 4. The club is something close to you. It's part of your state or city. How can you call it your club when you don't have any local representation? You need boys or girls who will grow up in the streets knowing that one day they can indeed represent the club. That badge on the Jersey should mean something. 5. At the end of the day, it's not our individual clubs, it's our nation. We should put that before everything. Let our club be a nonstop supply chain factories for our national teams. Let's get that done!

Here’s an economic stat for ya.. and a bit of a Sunday rant… The average price of an NBA ticket in Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. to watch the New York Knicks play any team is about $750/Seat through February; AVERAGE. Some games the base is $120 with 100 seats at that price or MORE.. but the good teams are selling from $400-12,000(VIP) / ticket for most games. People are buying at these prices. The arenas and concerts and events aren’t empty.. they are packed- generally sold out! The rich helping the richer. Economic Impact; Transports and Logistics So, how many trucks/trailers full of stuff does it take to resupply the arenas, event venues, hotels and local bars and burger stands etc vs when people use their income at the grocery and home-improvement store and auto dealer for replenishable “stuff” and merchandise. I’ve said in the past, this is a major reason for the “freight recession”. Until you can put “experiences” in a truck and ship it, transportation and logistics demand will NEVER be what it was 3-5 years ago. In my opinion, it has changed forever. I declare the driver shortage over due to changes consumer demand. I also declare those who are playing the “OTR/Load Board game” as a trucker or broker are on life support and have 3 months to live-at most. All of them. The independents and smalls who have no overhead will be the only folks able to play in the space. Broker margins will continue to erode. OTR trucking is half what it was and will half again within the next 24 months. 💡💡Unless someone converts the trailers into “mobile home-style hostels and ferries passengers from place to place-THAT would be a cool EXPERIENCE and fill the trailers again and keep the truckin’ wheels turning-regulatory policing aside .. 😜🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️💡 The DRIVING FORCE; I really was just mad because the “normal” folks can’t afford a simple NBA ticket anymore and I had to put in such a mental effort just to watch football on TV today. I also declare basic popular #sports over as well, for the little guy/girl. So sad. I’m mad and sad about it all 😢🤦🏽♂️🫣🧐🤬 National Football League (NFL) National Basketball Association (NBA) You make me wanna get into volleyball, tennis and GOLF! #justwannawatch, man. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 This happened halfway through the NFL playoff game after I finally figured out the streaming combo to get it on my TV. 📺 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤

I Help People Build Businesses and Live a Life Worth Living | Certified Dave Ramsey Financial Coach | High Volume Real Estate Wholesaler | Real Estate Investor | Author | Songwriter | Seeker
People love to have an opinion concerning how much money other people should make. This is especially true of professional athletes. Phrases like, "I can't believe how much they get paid just to put a ball through a hoop," are often intellectualized. Patrick Mahomes for instance, makes approximately $45mil/year as arguably the best quarterback in the National Football League. But here’s the thing: Patrick Mahomes does not get paid just to throw a football, And he doesn’t just make the owner of The Chiefs more money. Mahomes makes all the players around him better, Which puts them in a better position to negotiate higher contracts. Even the defensive players on a team that wins so frequently are more likely to be overvalued in free agency, As are the coaches as they try to advance their careers. Mahomes puts fans in the seats, And packed stadiums sell more hotdogs And increase the need for concession and parking attendants. Mahomes has brought multiple championships to Kansas City, And when a city is winning, food, beverage, and apparel sales go up. Even the guy selling bootleg jerseys out of the back of his sedan a mile from the stadium makes more money when his team is on a dominant run. Ultimately, two things dictate how much money we make in this life: The value we bring to the marketplace, And how difficult we are to replace. Patrick Mahomes doesn’t get paid to throw a football. He gets paid because he brings MASSIVE value to the market place, And he’s almost impossible to replace. How will you bring value to the market place? #SimonGeorgeSpeaks #Nashvilletn #Chattanoogatn #patrickmahomes #moneyconcious #financialliteracy #financialeducation #Smallbusinessowner #Entrepreneurlife #Lifecoaching #coachinglife #Motivationalspeaking #Coachingbusiness #Philosophyoflife
