❓️Is it a Sales Problem or a Marketing Problem? 👩🦳Last night, I had a quick chat with my coach. I told her I wanted to get a few more sales on board since I have no one on my waiting list for coaching right now. I said, "I think I have a sales problem". But she surprised me with her response: "You don’t have a sales problem". "Really?" I said. She continued, "No, you have a marketing problem". You need leads. Without hot leads, you can't make sales. So, it’s more of a marketing issue than a sales issue. You need to focus on generating leads, and then you can work your sales magic. 😊That conversation made me realize the importance of differentiating between sales and marketing. The two are connected, but they require different strategies. 👍While I know I can convert leads into clients, I first need to attract the right audience. So now, my focus is clear. Generating quality leads. Because the truth is, without a strong marketing strategy, the best sales techniques won't get you very far. What do you think? The salesperson could talk a lot about the drill itself – how powerful it is, how it looks, etc. But what really matters to you? NO It's not just about the drill; it's about what you want to do with it. So, instead of focusing only on the drill, what if the salesperson asked you what you wanted to use it for? Maybe you're making a shelf or hanging up pictures. By knowing this, they can help you better. Same in marketing. Generating leads is not something that happens overnight, we all know that. Lead Gen is a long-term game that takes consistent effort to yield positive results. One word comes to mind here…Execution. If you execute your marketing plan consistently, I am betting you would increase your MRR by at least 25%. Here in lies the problem -> EXECUTION. I get that most small businesses simply do not have the marketing support to rely on a steady flow of incoming leads and thus cannot hit their sales quota month to month. And, as a business owner, you may not have the time to execute marketing campaigns as you would have hoped. I totally get it… But, find the time! You hold the keys to your own success, but if you aren't taking the time for marketing then you cannot expect to get leads for your Sales Team. All I am saying is, take time out of your day for business growth and you will reap the benefits 😁 Change your mindset from a WORKER BEE to that of a SALES PERSON. Change your mindset.
