I've got a terribly uncomfortable feeling in my water and it's not my prostate. Let's examine the situation. Sunak could have waited towards the end of the year before calling an election when the economic news on the inflation front, already improving strongly, and now the immigration issue finally looking to become effective, so much so that even the EU is considering a Rwanda-style plan for its immigration problem, would have greatly improved his chances to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. He would also have had the opportunity in the Autumn budget to sharply raise the abysmally low £12,500 tax free limit that has become a viciously regressive stealth tax that hits the mainly poor pensioners much harder than the rich and they form 12.6m of the electorate. Make no mistake, the economy and immigration are key voting issues and Labour's ideas on both do not inspire great confidence. As for all the other rag bag parties they have always been a waste of space. This election may not be such a forgone conclusion as most people seem to think. #UKelection #immigration #economy
