More than often the importance of #cooling process in plastic production is #underestimated by processors!!. This can be seen within production plants in many ways either by unattentive selection of installed cooling capacity (if installed in first place!!), cooling lines not well sized, absence of control on cooling applied onto product ..etc. To point out the importance, it's enough to say that cooling of processed plastics has a major #role in bringing formed plastic material to the final #desired shape and dimension product specifications & quality. #plastics #plasticindustry #extrusion #pipe #blownfilm #injectionmolding #culture #productivity

Let’s Talk About Processes That Transform Plastics: An Introduction to Plastic Extrusion Plastic extrusion is a process where polymer material, enriched with desired additives, is melted and continuously formed. Polymer granules are gravity-fed from a hopper into one or more screws, driven by an electric motor. The design of the screw(s) varies, pushing the plastic forward through a heated barrel. At the end of the screw(s), the well-mixed molten plastic is forced through a die that gives the final product its desired profile and shape. Plastic extrusion is a manufacturing technology that plays a crucial role in producing many everyday products. Here are some common items made through plastic extrusion that we use daily: 𝗣𝗶𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝗯𝗲𝘀 Used in plumbing, irrigation, and heating or cooling systems 🏠 All potable water access and wastewater management systems rely on pipes for transportation. Check your kitchen, your conditionning system, you bathroom. In hospitals with #catheters, blood collection kits, hydratation kits or endotracheal #tubes for example 🏥 An important part in the inhaler for the treatment of diseases such as asthma. Those who donate blood or have had to be hospitalized have seen these products. Pipes are also a critical element for our access to #energy. They can be used to transport #oil, natural #gas, #hydrogen, #CO2 or any other liquid or gas.
