For the holidays, we (Docket Inc) shipped a small token of gratitude to all of our champions in our pilot (design partnership) program It wasn't much, just a small gift under $50. It was a genuine thanks from all of us here for trusting us when Docket was at idea stage and taking a chance on us. All of our champions are in high positions in big companies (>$100M in revenues). It is safe to say $50 is not a ton of money for them But when they received the gift, every single one of them pinged me and said thanks. They really appreciated the gesture I didn't do it to close deals. All of them are already signed pilots for us. So, there is no immediate 'ROI' for the activity Without these early adopters (aka customers), there are no startups. We need these amazing folks who are willing to work through the teething issues and see the founders' vision. So, it makes sense for all of us to thank our customers. B2B doesn't mean companies and buying and selling to other companies; it is still transaction between people. It is still not late. It is only first week of 2024. Think of the top folks who are helping you. Let them know that you're thinking of them with a lot of gratitude by sending a little something. Simple, humble gestures go a long way. It needn't even be $50. I know of a founder who literally didn't have any money. So, he packages some black pepper in a nice gift and gave it to his prospect. Giving brings a lot more satisfaction than receiving. Try it this new year. Happy New Year, everybody 😀
