We're thrilled to announce that the Derwent Scour Hole project has won the ICE Wales Cymru Designed in Wales Award! 💫 This remarkable project, led by our Binnies design team in Swansea, showcased outstanding collaboration across organisations to deliver a critical solution in a tight time frame. From August to October 2023, over 450 tonnes of aggregate were used to fill the scour hole and construct a new inlet spillway, preventing further erosion and protecting vital infrastructure. It's the ICE Wales Cymru Awards tonight! 🏆 Nominated for the Designed in Wales Award, The Derwent Scour Hole project is an excellent example of collaborative working across organisations to deliver a critical project in a short window of opportunity. The Binnies design team, based at our Swansea office, undertook the lead designer role remotely delivered for the whole project. This project, to fill the hole and create a wall to prevent further scouring and undermining, took place from August to October 2023.
