As preclinical research and drug discovery evolve, it is essential to accurately monitor drug biodistribution and delivery, protein expression, and other critical factors. However, standard imaging techniques have limitations in visualizing whole-body expression. Cryo-fluorescence tomography (CFT) overcomes these limitations by providing high resolution 3D anatomical and fluorescence images that can be overlaid. Discover more with CFT as a complement to your existing imaging modalities. See what you're missing: https://bit.ly/4fLx9dR #genetherapy #oncology #immunotherapy #drugdiscovery #CFT

When Megan Thomas at Drug Discovery World set out to discover what lies ahead in cancer research, one of the companies she spoke to was Vidac Pharma. Chief Executive Officer Prof max herzberg explained how we are aiming to reverse the abnormal metabolism fueling malignant cells to treat cancer. Vidac Pharma is developing new drugs based on this principle, and has already shown some very promising results – in the laboratory as well as in patients. To read more about the science Vidac is using to develop its therapies, and our pipeline of candidate drugs, please visit our website at www.vidacpharma.com To read the article in Drug Discovery World, please click on this link: https://lnkd.in/gtSZijU9 #cancer #biotech #onchology #science #vidacpharma #dermatology

In this study, researchers wrapped MG SLNs with B16-F10 cell membrane to create B16@MG, which specifically targeted melanoma cells with low toxicity. These nanoparticles, loaded with indocyanine green (ICG), showed long-term accumulation in tumors and aided in localizing tumor boundaries. Additionally, MG SLNs encapsulated with methyl 5-aminolevulinate (MLA) and desferrioxamine (DFO) were developed as B16@MG-MLA-DFO. MLA metabolized to protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) in cells, while DFO reduced iron ion content, promoting PpIX accumulation and enhancing reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation during radiotherapy. This innovative approach demonstrated improved efficacy in tumor therapy and the integration of diagnosis and treatment in melanoma-bearing mice. 📚 Click the link below to read the full article! #biotech #lipidnanoparticles #cancerresearch #drugdelivery #therapeutics

What’s your favorite molecule published in March? My favorite molecule in March was the Polymerase theta (Pol θ) inhibitor compound c1 from Insilico Medicine. Here are three reasons for my choice: 🎯 Pol θ is a synthetic lethality target in BRCA-mutated cancers. Pol θ inhibition can resensitize PARP-resistant tumors to PARP inhibition and has shown potential in sensitizing tumor cells to radiotherapy—a treatment approach gaining traction recently, evidenced by acquisitions, disclosures and approvals in the field. 💻 This molecule was identified using an AI-driven chemistry platform, showcasing the integration of advanced technology in accelerating drug discovery. 🔬The structure of compound c1 is particularly intriguing, featuring a 3-hydroxymethyl-azetidine and a deuterated methyl-amide. Every month, our editorial team at Drug Hunter does a roundup of interesting molecules. We'd love to hear about your favorite molecule—join the conversation and share your insights!
