Dearest Network, it's me again, the person always talking about literature searches and related stuff 😁. Over the past few months, I've had the opportunity to work with novel medical devices that covered a super broad indication. An indication that is usually split into e.g. different severity stages, each with it's own set of available treatment options. As my device was novel, there was no similar device on the market. Thus, I needed to get data from the alternative treatment options, but there were so many alternatives available. I restricted those to the options recommended by the most important guidelines, still more than 1000 papers left with relevant content.. So, my question today is this: In situations like this, what would be your approach(es) to reduce the amount of data to a manageable number? ☀️ would you consider to omit certain guideline recommended alternative treatment options from your analysis? ☀️ would you narrow your timeframe to such an extent that the number feels manageable? ☀️ or would you approach the whole issue from a completely different angle? I am so curious about your feedback! #EuMDR #Literaturesearch #clinicalaffairs #medicalwriting #sharingiscaring

The biggest challenge in today’s med device marketing You either have the visuals But struggle translating the science. Or You have the clinical talk track But haven’t developed strong content. Marketers need to build their own advisory board: Talk to Medical Education. Talk to the Clinical Engineers. Talk to your Key Opinion Leaders. Talk to both Sales Reps & Managers. Collaboration is crucial to success. 50% is not an acceptable option. Figure out how to do both. ✌️ CTA: How would you improve med device marketing? 🔔 Follow me for more Swift #meddevice advice. - #marketing #medicaleducation #salestraining #medicaldevicesales

I just finished reading the article, "Patient input into medical device development: A missed opportunity," by Steven (Steve) Bourke. By actively involving patients in every stage of the device development process—from setting research priorities to post-market surveillance—we ensure that the devices we create are not only technologically advanced but also culturally sensitive and user-friendly. I attached the figure he included in the article, which I find very helpful. It's called, "Concept roadmap of patient involvement in the different phases of medical device R&D." Well done on publishing the book, Ida! When reviewing it, I found the clear presentation of methods and tools, along with the useful online links, particularly valuable. Your voice comes through in a way that makes the book both engaging and approachable. It’s a thorough and comprehensive guide – perfect for every product manager’s back pocket, much like the Junior Woodchucks' Guidebook for Huey, Dewey, and Louie!
🚀 It's Launch Day! I’m thrilled to announce the release of my new book, Transformation Towards Human-Centered Medical Devices, the first-ever service design handbook for medical device product management! This book is dedicated to advancing the role of service design in the medical device industry, focusing on product management and emphasizing the importance of user involvement. Today, you can explore an online sample and purchase your copy from BoD (https://lnkd.in/dRZYCcPk). In the coming days, it will also be available on platforms such as Amazon, Adlibris, Akateeminen, Google Play, and Suomalainen Kirjakauppa.
