As someone whose job it is to think about the translation of early-stage science to medicine, it's been really rewarding to help shape a multi-panel session that gets deep into the ways that is hard, and how to move forward. Join us in Nashville Sept. 9-11 to get in on the conversation! Breakthrough translational discoveries face critical bottlenecks that limit their path to value-driving drug development. Inefficiencies in translation range from poor disease models, to underdeveloped delivery technology, to mismatched expectations for what constitutes validation. At #BioCenturyGrandRounds, the Translational Bottlenecks Session will unpack the strategies for overcoming these roadblocks: ➤ From causal biology to preclinical validation: What makes the grade in 2024? ➤ The human-first era is here: Is there still value in new animal models? ➤ Delivery on demand: Still the elephant in the room Download the conference brochure to view the full agenda: https://loom.ly/TGB3Mmk Register: https://loom.ly/xUy6IGo #translationalbottlenecks #drugdevelopment #translationalscience #biotech #biopharma

Fascinating experience attending the #interphex conference in Tokyo today, the biggest #Pharma event of the year! Walking the massive exhibition halls added a serious step count. One striking trend I noticed as a newbie is the focus on #celltherapy and #genetherapy technologies and solutions by many companies. This signifies the ongoing shift to #precisionmedicine and the exciting possibilities in healthcare future. 💉💊⚕️🧬🎌 Looking forward to further discussions with industry leaders on the impact of genomics in this trend. #NGS deployment in quality control protocols is already in progress. One crucial question I aim to explore more is, “how can we enhance your workflow to provide a more comprehensive answer, enabling you to proceed with confidence to the next step?” 🏭🧫🧪🧑🔬 Excited to delve deeper into this conversation. What other questions do you suggest I should be asking?

In collaboration with pharmaceutical group company OpREMS, LLC., a research team at North Dakota State University has received an $296k award from the The National Institutes of Health Small Business Technology Transfer (#STTR) program to conduct research for NDSU's #Opioid and #Naloxone Education ONE Program. The research will develop and refine a digital platform incorporating current ONE Program tools. Artificial intelligence will be utilized to analyze data to recognize the screening tools that have the most significant clinical impact. NDSU researchers Jayme Steig, Jeremy Straub, Elizabeth Skoy, and Lisa Nagel will conduct the research in collaboration with Nick Ferrarese. STTR aims to foster technology transfer through cooperative R&D between small businesses and research institutions. STTR and the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program collectively form the NIH Small Business Program which is also known as America’s Seed Fund. How can we refine and de-risk drug development process and start using reliable sources in clinical trials, exponentially increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of research? Yesterday, we highlighted the challenges that the #clinicalresearch environment is currently facing, but these limitations can be overcome through innovation. ELEM virtualizes medical trials and patients using advanced mathematical models, enabling the prediction of treatment outcomes in real patient conditions. Currently, medical devices and drugs are tested without taking into account the variation and diversity of individuals… but with supercomputers, there is no limit to either the number of tests that can be done or the number of variables that can be considered, thus making the drug suitable for anyone and being able to take into account age, gender, ethnic groups and so on. ELEM is the future of medicine. Now! If you are interested in discovering our contribution to revolutionizing the clinical trial environment, send us a DM or follow this link: https://www.elem.bio. #medtech #clinicaltrials #animaltesting #EUeic
