50 startups supported, 23 investors engaged, and $35M raised— in less than two years, the Capital Readiness Program has already made a powerful impact in guiding health tech startups toward success. Next week, the University City Science Center is excited to welcome 10 emerging companies to Philadelphia for the 6th cohort of this best-in-class boot camp for founders serious about raising capital and thoughtfully scaling their business.

The longevity market focused on extending the human lifespan and improving health in later years, is rapidly expanding. The sector attracts significant investments from VCs, the pharmaceutical industry and tech giants, aiming to revolutionize the way we approach aging and age-related diseases. It is great to see more longevity-focused events appearing on the conference scene - meeting to discuss, share knowledge and network is crucial for all of us. In a few weeks, during London Tech Week on June 10-11, LongeVC managing partner Sergey Jakimov will attend one of the panels during the Founders Longevity Forum. Deakin, Principal, Molten Ventures • Megan MacDonagh, Vice President, SV Health Investors • Anne Portwich, Partner, EQT Life Sciences  • Sylvain Sachot, Partner, Asabys Partners 2023 life science investment went down across the board, in biotech and medtech equally, but in diagnostics and healthtech to a greater degree. A panel of European VCs discusses what’s in store for 2024. The number of up-rounds is down, which is a negative for VC firms supporting early-stage companies. The situation needs to change in order to reward early investment, the lifeblood of medtech innovation. We are seeing a lot of structured deals, option deals with many milestones. It does look good when a strategic is interested in a company, and it provides a path for exit.
