Supercritical antisolvent #technology refers to a supercritical CO2 (ScCO2) in which the operating conditions are altered to cause the generation of #supersaturation and to achieve a high supersaturation rate, so that the solid solute is crystallized from the supercritical solution.The basic principle of SAS is that when the solute is insoluble in the ScCO2, an #organic solvent which has a better solvency for both the solute and the ScCO2 is selected as a co-solvent to dissolve the solute, and when the solution as an When the anti-solvent ScCO2 is in full contact with the solution, ScCO2 rapidly diffuses into the solution, the volume of the solution expands, the density decreases, the solubility of the co-solvent to the solute decreases, and the solution is oversaturated and #crystallizes to #precipitate solute particles. Shimadzu in collaboration with the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO), Japan has developed a new greenhouse gas analyzer that can simultaneously measure the 3 main greenhouse gases (GHG): methane (CH₄), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and nitrous oxide (N₂O) in a single sample injection, an analysis that was difficult to achieve with previous systems. Equipped with a robust high-throughput syringe injection system for processing up to 108 sample vials, this analyzer is designed to support research related to reducing greenhouse gas levels. It combines Shimadzu’s Nexis GC-2030 with NARO’s patented technology for simultaneously analyzing three GHG components.
