Could it be that the rebates/fees a plan earns on coverage and dispense of a biosimilar is substantially less than that earned for Humira? TLDR: The plans aren't focused on ways to reduce patients out of pocket costs. Hypothetical numbers Humira Rebate: 25% of $8000 = $2000 Biosim Rebate: 25% of $3200 = $800 Net reduction of $1200 per prescription where a Biosim is dispensed. Multiply the number of prescriptions of Humira filled times this $1200 reduction in rebate payment. Consider the negative impact on top and/or bottom line of the plan/PBM if patients were able to get a Biosimilar instead. This is purely a business decision which doesn't prioritize the patient.
It’s troubling to see that #biosimilars are not being covered as much as their reference products. According to Avalere, the brand Humira is covered 99% of the time, while lower-priced biosimilars are only covered 6% of the time. This significantly impacts patients’ out-of-pocket expenses. The latest industry report reveals that U.S. consumers have spent over $4.1 billion on pre-rolls within the last 18 months. While flower remains king, prerolls have emerged as the third most popular choice. Considering Ohio's current vaporization-only regulation, there is speculation on whether the new recreational status could lead to a change, potentially permitting prerolls in the future. In anticipation of this shift, ACT offers screening services to ensure that preroll papers are free of heavy metals or other known contaminates before ramping up production. #CannabisIndustry #OhioCannabis

Hey guys, this is a great question ... "How do I know I am getting a quality humic or fulvic product?" 🌱 Here's our insight: As a consumer of humic products, it is important to be diligent about asking all the right questions to a potential supplier to make sure you are getting a quality product. Here are some questions to consider: • From what mine is the humic and fulvic sourced from? Is it a North American mine? Our recommendation is to acquire from North American mines to ensure optimal quality. • What percentage of humic or fulvic does the product claim? Can I get a lab verified document proving this? • What testing methodology is used to determine percentage of humic or fulvic claimed on the label? • Is the laboratory doing that testing approved by the Humic Product Trade Association? There are only 3 approved labs on the HPTA’s list. The HPTA is a regulatory group that advances the commercial use of humic products through scientific and regulatory cooperation. They have specific parameters lined out on extraction and testing methodoloy to set standards for humic products. There are many different options of humic and fulvic products out on the market. Asking your potential supplier all of the above questions is a great way to get the conversations started. Win Biologics offers both a quality humic and fulvic product that follow all HBTA requirements for humic standards. More evidence that New York’s supply chain is balanced today, but it won’t be forever. Micros have a massive opportunity to step into the arena and produce high quality indoor flower that the market will desperately need as the retail supply chain builds. The gaps will be filled by: - tier 1 and 2 cultivators, who (per OCM regs) will be able to scale up over time as they find success - outdoor growers, supplying the states biomass and sun grown smokable that adds vibrancy and differentiation on price and quality to the market - ROs, who seem determined to crash the market, despite having a key role in supplying mid-high quality product the market will pay for at scale with hundreds of stores coming online This market is rocking. We just need it to keep growing.
A survey of CANY members conducted in June highlighted concerns over supply issues, however, overall found optimism among operators. This is our first of what will be quarterly surveys of our members as we work to understand their concerns and continuously find ways to support them. Future surveys will continue to monitor sentiment among CANY members, who come from every corner of the industry, and will highlight timely issues. As we entered the summer growing season, and with dispensaries opening weekly, it seemed only right to check in on the supply chain.
