📢 Publication Alert! 📢 I'm happy to share that our research paper titled "Investigating Curcuminoid Encapsulation in β-Cyclodextrin: Insights from NMR Spectroscopy and MD Simulations" has been accepted for publication in the prestigious Elsevier #FoodHydrocolloids journal! This work is centered on curcuminoids, value-added products from turmeric, and specifically focuses on understanding the low bioavailability of curcuminoids. By encapsulating curcuminoids with the well-known β-cyclodextrin encapsulation agent, we aimed to enhance their stability, interaction, and effectiveness. The objective of the study was to compare curcuminoids in all three forms (curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin) and their interactions with β-cyclodextrin. Our study dives deep into the interaction mechanisms and encapsulation strategies using state-of-the-art NMR spectroscopy, supported by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. A great article, co-authored by Olga Tarkhanova and Yurii Moroz, is out! https://lnkd.in/ehDrCmWp This work is dedicated to exploring AlphaFold2 structures in ligand discovery. The authors have docked large libraries against AF2 models of the α2 and 5-HT2A receptors, testing hundreds of new molecules. Despite differences in orthosteric residue conformations, the result showed high hit rates and affinities similar to experimental structures. Congratulations to all the authors! I'm thrilled to announce the publication of our collaborative research paper, titled "Exploring Fibrinogen's Affinity and Interaction with Trehalose for Protein Stabilization," in the esteemed Journal of Molecular Liquids (Q1, IF=6). This paper investigates the interaction between trehalose and fibrinogen, focusing on their structural characteristics and potential application in wound healing. Through a variety of analytical methods and computational modeling, it elucidates the formation of a stable complex between the two entities and highlights trehalose's role in enhancing protein stability and reducing cytotoxicity, suggesting its promise for wound dressing applications. I was responsible for conducting biophysical tests, including fluorescence, CD, and UV-thermal spectroscopic assays, as well as analyzing the resulting data and drafting these sections.
