🚨 TODAY 🚨 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮‐𝗖 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲-𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 Register ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gee-f9hG Join us October 29 for an exciting webinar with Filippo Mangolini, Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, where he will present research on the friction response of amorphous carbon when doped with rare-earth elements. Doping and alloying amorphous carbon (a-C) thin films are ways to tailor their mechanical and tribological properties. However, few studies have focused on doping/alloying with rare-earth elements. This study shows that a-C films containing europium (Eu) or gadolinium (Gd) can have promising tribological properties. 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲: • Results of shear strength at the sliding interfaces for a-C films alloyed with Eu or Gd • Near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectromicroscopy data to clarify the origin of the tribological results. • A model proposed by the researchers for the effect of Gd or Eu introduction on tribological response of a-C. #friction #carbon #tribology

I'm deligthed to share the publication of my first article writting during my PhD, entitled "Influence of different type of impermeable phase on the permeability of PLA films: Nanofillers versus crystalline phase". This article focuses on the effect of a large range of fillers as well as the crystalline phase on the PLA barrier properties. The study includes experimental works as well as modelisation approach. Finnaly a permeability diagram allowing to easily establish equivalence laws between the different investigated impermeable phases is proposed. Access link : https://lnkd.in/diFMs2kM I would like to thanks my supervisors from Laboratoire IMP and PIMM as well as the ANR (Agence nationale de la recherche) BANCODEMM for the fundings.

This is a very interesting paper, presenting (for the first time) experimental evidence that IOL implantation is linked to geometric distortion of the retinal image, with the effect being more pronounced at the periphery. Inverted meniscus IOLs (#ArtIOLs, #VOPTICA) induce less (almost no) distortion compared to biconvex IOLs. https://lnkd.in/dynUecpf

My newest paper has been published! There has been increasing interest in the use of squaraines with different physicochemical properties. However, their applications in nanoplasmonics are limited. For that, detailed information on the interactions of squaraines with plasmonic nanostructures is required. In this work, we have studied the adsorption of the squaraine cis-dicyanomethylene squarate (CDSQ) on the surface of Ag nanoparticles (AgNP). We have combined normal Raman, surfaceenhanced Raman scattering (SERS), and DFT calculations to get insights into the configuration of its adsorption.

Excited to share my first JACS paper on the synthesis and photophysical properties of a 4 heptagons-nanographene! 🎉 In brief, this saddle-shaped molecular nanographene exhibits dual fluorescence and photoinduced electron transfer towards fullerenes. What I found especially exciting is how the heptagon rings play a key role in the electron transfer process! 🔦 ⚡ This work is the result of a collaboration with Prof. Xinliang Feng, under the Research Training Program Planar Carbon Lattice (RTG-PCL). Many thanks to everyone involved! 🙏 https://lnkd.in/esdXXTH4

#MOFs are promising candidates for temperature-driven adsorption applications but how the rate at which temperature is varied affects these processes? To address this question, we took inspiration from electrochemistry and especially cyclic voltammetry. Hajar AMYAR introduces "cyclic ellipsometry" to explore sorption #kinetics in MOFs. Thanks to the collaborators Andrea Cattoni Mondher Besbes Civan Avcı... and to European Research Council (ERC) for funding. https://lnkd.in/ehjEYsXT Sorbonne Université Laboratoire de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Paris (Sorbonne Université, CNRS) Institut universitaire de France (IUF)
