Are you skeptical about a career in construction? You might be surprised by the many avenues to follow your passions in this industry! Take some advice from Andie Marchand, our Indigenous Relations Lead, and discover your career possibilities at Bird.

Andie Marchand , such a great post. To follow your lead, folks have no idea of the depth of our industry and how "not so obvious" crossover skillsets can be applied to our dynamic and exciting industry - marketing, legal, accounting, education, and obviously all aspects of STEM education and training.

Could not agree more Andie Marchand 👏🏼 I come across many students who are not even closed off to hands-on work and the skilled trades (they’re actually interested/passionate about them), but are still timid or apprehensive about pursuing these as a career. Although many organizations and nonprofits are increasing the accessibility of the trades, it’s still necessary to do as you suggested: identify preconceptions as well as ones passions, ask questions, research and network!

I am a kick-ass lady in the promo world. I help businesses promote their brand and connect with their clients using branded products to create tangible moments.

This great career advice Andie. I think it’s so important to find something that you are passionate about. It’s much easier to get up everyday looking forward to what challenges you. Secondly, as mentioned the depth of the construction industry offers something for everyone. In todays world many organizations are looking for individuals that can build the future through engineering, technology and trades. Wise words Andie, thank You for sharing.

I'll keep this in mind but the dynamics out there tells a different story.
