The art of selling or pitching a product is an underappreciated skill and something young people don’t always get the chance to develop. It’s natural for parents to want to protect their kids from rejection, so it’s rare for them to be put in a position where someone says “No” to them. But there’s no better way to sharpen your sales skills and develop the resilience needed to be an effective advocate than to be ignored, rejected, or teased while offering someone a free sample of iced tea! We’ve just posted the job listings for 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗘𝗔's summer marketing and sales internships. We call the brave students who take on these roles “Road Warriors” because they spend most of their time out in the field – supporting stores and at attending events where they get to connect with consumers and share their enthusiasm for organic agriculture, Fair Trade USA and of course, delicious tea. If you know people passionate about making an impact in our food system, love to engage thirsty customers and are eager to break into CPG, please encourage them to apply! During my two-month sales internship, I learned a lot about how the sales process really works. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: •𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚. Most of the time, the solution to a problem is hidden in the numbers; you just need to uncover it. But when data doesn't give you all the answers, it's important to head into the market. With the right information in hand, you can go to the right places and ask the right questions to get the insights you need. •𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. Whether it's the salesmen, stockists, or retailers, everyone sees the situation differently. By hearing all these perspectives, you get a complete understanding of what's going on. I also realized that managing people and knowing how to motivate them are two of the most critical skills in sales. Sales is very much about working with others, and keeping people inspired helps drive success. Lastly, I saw firsthand that discipline and consistency, even though they can feel repetitive or dull, are key to achieving results. By the end of my internship, I had a much clearer understanding of the business as a whole. #sales #Retailers #Stockist #Ecommerce #Distributor #internshipslearning

Hi Everyone! I'd like to share my internship experiences from the past four months. I started as a brand ambassador and was promoted to sales leader on June 30th, 2024. All my hard work and perseverance paid off! I'm excited to learn more in the coming two months I have left at the company. Here's what I've learned so far: 1. Communication Skills: How to adapt my communication style to different people. This includes using different tones of voice and body language depending on the situation and the person I'm interacting with. 2. Personal Branding: As the face of the company for our clients, it's crucial to maintain a professional and positive presentation in everything I do, from head to toe, even the way I walk. This reflects well on both the client and myself, and strengthens our brand image. 3. Confidence: Confidence is key, especially when closing a sale. Projecting confidence assures the client that the product is valuable and can truly benefit them. All of these achievements wouldn't have been possible without my trainers. Their patience and guidance throughout my internship were invaluable.

I attended a Sales Masterclass earlier. It was an interesting session, but what I value from my day, besides the insights that I got, was the venue. It was held at a Hotel in Ortigas. It might seem normal, but for me, it was pure Nostalgia. I did my internship in that Hotel. It felt like I travelled back in time. The year was 2009. I woke up early because it was my first day. I wore white long sleeves and black slacks. My parents were kind enough to bring me to the site. When I got there, we were brought to a small conference room for a quick orientation then we were assisted to the department that I was assigned to. We were 2 trainees who were designated to be at room sales but the other one was quickly transferred to another group. When I went inside, I was introduced to the Room Sales Manager and all the Sales Executives. I was at awe because everyone looked very professional and well groomed. I got excited for my future. I wanted to be like them. This is a long post, if I continue it will be longer. I realized that everything looked and felt bigger back then. I was a young adult who was not familiar with the reality of the world. When I entered earlier, after 15 years, it felt normal- it felt smaller because I've seen and conquered bigger venues. Then I realized, the venue represented my responsibilities and expertise back then. In comparison to now, everything is way bigger. as what my Bosses say... "Malayo pa, pero Malayo na." #learninganddevelopment
