Today we museum directors of the UK head to parliament to advocate for UK museums. Zak Mensah and I will be representing Birmingham Museums Trust and explaining how much regional museums can and do deliver for communities, the economy and human flourishing. Regional museums are in dire straits and still delivering but it's time to find a new sustainable way to fund culture. My childhood heroine Lady Floella Benjamin should be there. I will try to stay cool about that. https://lnkd.in/euDSRRGe
Good luck Sara - best people to fight our corner. We all behind you xx
see you there later with some treasure
See you later
Hoping it went well. You are influencing the next generation. x
Excellent speech Sara - pitch perfect.
Floella ❤️ - don’t be *too* cool…

2moGood luck. It will be a hard sell. I wouldn't want to be the pitching 'Civic Museums' as a business model in too the equivalents of the dragons in Dragons Den. Inherently unsustainable, and i predict if you get anything it won't be equitably distributed; only the biggest will benefit.
