We have launched Room2Give, our latest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiative that will not only reduce consumption but also enable the Resort and its guests to support local community organisations. Guests staying at the venue’s Woodlands Event Centre or Willows Training Centre for more than one night will be able to choose which of three local charities to support by opting out of room cleaning. Every time a guest opts out, a donation is made to the Room2Give fund. Guests actively choose which charity their contribution supports by hanging the corresponding door hanger. It's that time of year again - Green Friday! Instead of Black Friday, we will be donating 10% of sales on our website this weekend (even on sale items!) for our industrial cleaning and pumping equipment to a green initiative. This year, we are donating to the Glas-na-Bradan Wood in the Belfast Hills. The Climate Crisis is at its peak and we, as individuals and institutions are accountable in taking various steps to counter it. Give a Tree is a plantation sponsorship initiative by Thuvakkam through which a medium is provided a chance to make our world a better place by planting & nurturing a tree. The initiative is completely funded where the funding is collected and a plantation drive is organized. Through the Give a Tree initiative, Thuvakkam is collecting donations/funds to plant trees. The planted trees are maintained for 2 years until they become self-sustainable. We are providing opportunities to the community to plant trees and witness their growth over time. If 96% of UK charities describe themselves as "small", is it time to start redefining what we mean by 'small charities'? Surely the term 'small charity' must bear some relation to the size of charities more broadly. You can't say a rhino is a small animal simply because it's much smaller than a blue whale. It would be absurd to say France is a small country because Canada is so much bigger. So why do we persist in considering charities with 20 salaried staff and a turnover of £1m a year "small".
